Males aged 16, 17, 18 years old are dead after they attempted to break into the wrong home in Broken Arrow, Okla., as a 23-year-old resident responded to sounds of a break-in by arming himself with an AR-15 and opening fire.

According to KOTV, three masked and gloved suspects attempted to break into the home through the back door. One of the suspects had a knife and another had brass knuckles. A 23-year-old man, the son of the homeowner, awoke to the sounds of the burglary and grabbed an AR-15.

Two of the teenage burglars were shot dead in kitchen, while a third died in the driveway. A fourth suspect behind the wheel of the getaway car, 21-year-old Elizabeth Rodriguez, has turned herself in.

Though she was behind the wheel, Rodriguez faces three counts of first-degree murder and first-degree burglary.

Police say this appears to be an open and shut case of self-defense.

“These three individuals came to this residence with the intent to burglarize it. One was with brass knuckles, the other one was with a knife,” Deputy Nick Mahoney said. “They were masked at the time, all had gloves on. They entered in through a black door, shattering the back door and they entered into the residence.”

“Armed with a rifle, there were some shots fired, and, at this point, three people are deceased,” he added.

Neighbors said that their homes had also been broken into recently and wondered if these suspects were responsible, though that is just speculation.

One, speaking to KOKI, said, “You know, three masked men come into my house and I’m going to defend me and anybody that’s in there.”

WHAT?

I’m glad I don’t live in Oklahoma! Their interpretation of the laws and justice doesn’t even come close to my beliefs and understanding!
