Here’s Why Trump’s Jerusalem Move Makes Evangelicals Delirious With Joy

Read Time:1 Minute, 48 Second

by Michael John Scott

Donald Trump’s reckless decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s official capital drew weeping praise from American evangelical Christians, and you won’t believe why.  It’s largely because they think it will bring about the long threatened and often promised mythical apocalypse.

Diana Butler Bass, eminent Christian theologian, explains that having the state of Israel take full control of Jerusalem is part of the bizarre right-wing evangelicals’ mythology that would allegedly bring about the resurrection of one Jesus H. Christ.

Bass writes:

“For decades, conservative evangelicals have been longing for this recognition. They believe it is necessary in order to regain control of the Temple mount. That is important because rebuilding the Temple is the event that will spark the events of the Book of Revelation and the End Times.”

Bass does not believe Trump himself is looking to bring about the end of the world, however she does think that many of the evangelicals who have lobbied him on a variety of Christian issued, have done so on this issue as well.

She writes:

“You can’t discount those evangelical advisers… almost all of whom take these End Times prophecies literally. Of all the possible theological dog-whistles to his evangelical base, this is the biggest. Trump is reminding them that he is carrying out God’s will to these Last Days.”

To this end, says Bass, those fanatic evangelicals are praying, and praying hard, that Trump’s ill-advised move will destabilize the Middle East, causing war and all sorts of suffering, bringing about the return of the Jesus character.  Making others suffer in the name of Jesus, is, after all, the Christian way.

Bass concludes:

“They want war in the Middle East. The Battle of Armageddon, at which time Jesus Christ will return to the Earth and vanquish all God’s enemies.”

Naturally, the evangelicals are giddy with excitement, now that Trump has given them what they want.  Already millions are praying to their God thanking him for Donald Trump, and wishing him a bon voyage because no doubt he will be packing his heavenly bags and booking his trip to earth.

The world would be much improved if all the people who actually believe in the Rapture dissapeared all at once.

Gotta agree with that E.A. Those I’ve come across that buy into the disappearing Christian prophecy are the gossipingest, backstabbingest miserable people I’ve ever met that weren’t convicted felons.

Joe, sometimes you make really good sense. I was thinking that Trump might be the anti Christmas but Jared makes better sense. It is interesting to note also that the Bible did or does mention something about 144,000 chosen people, all of them Jewish being the ones that get saved. That leaves out all of the Christians, especially those from America.

As long as you put something in the collection plate I think you’re good with Pentecostals Jess. And blabbered something incoherent and said it was “tongues.”

I figure I will be one of the “saved” who will disappear from this Earth and materialize in Heaven cause I went to a Pentacostal church a few times. That being said, and I said this on Facebook, that Kushner dude sure seems like the antichrist to me. He bears a remarkable resemblance to the antichrist dude in The Omen II. And there was the thing in Revelation about 144,000 Jews and he is Jewish. I think he has a Social Security number and I wouldn’t be surprised if it had 666 in it. The Devil isn’t going to just introduce himself you know.
He will be well groomed. Kushner also resembles Warren Jeffs by the way. Repent sinners. The end is upon us.

Well he does have that albatross building with an addy of 666 something something. Plus he has financial connections to the settlements over in Israel so he’s got that going for him when he immigrates there because of his treachery here Joe. Wait though, do you only have to have gone into a church for this whole saving thing because I attended a wedding a couple of weeks ago at a Pentecostal church for a friend of mom’s 4th wedding. She is a very religious lady hence all the churchy marriages. Divorced one, two dead, she’s like Henry the 8th but female, so Henrietta we will call her.

Fucking nutjobs, if the babby jeebee came back down from whatever acid trip he is currently on, these assholes would string him up again. I hope I am considered an enemy so that they do one of two things, blast me right off the face of the earth so I don’t have to deal with these morons anymore, or take them instead to where the rest of us can finally have some peace and quiet.

These religious nutters are going to bring about the end all by themselves. They’ve been destroying civilized society with their twisted hypocrisy for generations. Fuck Jesus!
