Stop Praising With Faint Damnation, Donald Trump Is A Liar

Read Time:1 Minute, 41 Second

by Glenn R. Geist

A CNN headline this morning says: Trump falsely claims he’s signed most bills. The trouble is, says Errin Burnett,

“that’s just not true.”

If this were an uncommon claim for Trump, that would have been a suitable comment, but so little of what he says fails to be the opposite of the truth, it’s time to call him a damned liar, openly, forcefully and without reservation.

He’s a damned liar, a perpetual liar, a pathological liar who lies for the sake of promoting bigger lies. He lies to people who know he’s lying and defends himself by lying about those people.

We all know people whose entire personality consists of a web of ego defenses and in Trump, we know someone who needs to protect his entire life’s history as well as his sense of shame and inadequacy.

His accusations are an inventory of his own crimes, failures, and inadequacies.

I read Michael Specter’s book years ago, but it’s hard to forget:

“Denialism: How Irrational Thinking Harms the Planet and Threatens Our Lives”

Every day’s headlines confirm the truth that confirming the apparent truth has little to do with confirming belief in facts and logic.

Roy Moore, like a drowning rat, is still desperately trying to act as though he is an Alabama Senator-Elect in the apparent hope that steadfastly maintaining the fantasy makes it true.

It’s a kind of religion and a rapidly spreading one. A president who changes his testimony from day to day as an exercise in myth maintenance, who claims the truth of the patently and observably false.

He’s certainly not the founder of the cult; it’s an ancient one, but he’s in the tradition, from “Credo quia absurdum of Tertullian (I believe because it is absurd)” to the probably apocryphal “nothing is true and all things are permitted” of Hassan the Assassin, false doubt and Denialism are as ancient and impregnable as the fortress of Alamut.

Lock him up! The truth, the evidence, the facts demand it!

Believe me, I am going to have to rethink my whole life and its choices now that you are bombarding me with these vile untruths about Dear Leader Glenn. It is unpossible, UNPOSSIBLE(on purpose spelling error here in case you are all wondering) nonsense I say, that he would stoop to lying to get across to his moronic base full of morons.

This entire administration is so damned corrupt. Jeff Sessions is rolling back some of the things that Obama and Eric Holder had put in place. A big one was getting judges to consider a person’s ability to pay when levying fines and incarceration for failure to pay them. It amounts to a debtor’s imprisonment which is not supposed to be happening, but Sessions is encouraging judges to go forward in full force with it. The justice system in the country is so broken that no even Gorilla Glue can put it back together.

I’m 99.9% certain that Trump has not read 1984. Perhaps his advisors have, “Ignorance Is Strength” could have been written with him in mind.

The President’s words are not lies, his illegal acts are legal.

Indeed, he has absolute power over the justice department so justice and his opinion are the same thing.

MSNBC has been less critical of him since the tax bill even lauding his praises like Fox News. What’s up with that?

The only person coming close to that is Lawrence O’Donnell. He has being saying that since Trump announced his candidacy.

Good point. We know it, they know it, he knows it.

Weird.

Really really weird.
