Witch Hunt or No, Al Franken’s Got To Go

Read Time:50 Second

by Glenn R. Geist

I keep griping that you don’t prosecute someone on the basis of accusations, but we’re not prosecuting him. Politicians put themselves in the spotlight voluntarily and their constituents have a right to judge them on any basis they please. I don’t think he can ever be elected or run for office again, at least not as a Democrat from Minnesota.

So it’s time to go, Joe. Time to get out the back Jack while you can pretend you have some dignity left. It’s not one incident you can write off or explain away any more. Yes, it’s a damned shame because you give the Party of Evil a boost here. You’ve helped set back the only option we have to replace them. It doesn’t matter all that much that you’ve been an effective senator. Our times may be getting a bit puritanical and hysterical but in this case it’s your fault, all your fault and nothing but your fault. Go, now.

And as I said elsewhere, he’s become such a major distraction it’s impeding and distracting from the only hope we have of getting rid of Trump before he gets rid of our Republic.

I didn’t like him as a comedian and probably not as a person, but he did his job well and he will be hard to replace.

He apologized to one woman and where there’s smoke there’s generally more smoke. Maybe other allegations are politically motivated, whatever they are he doesn’t want to face the music. He has a family to deal with.

I was a big supporter of Franken. Got no time for men who grope. Get out now and don’t come back. That goes you too Trump.

Don’t know just how much actual groping took place given there was ZERO investigation.

I think his resignation, predicated on those “colleagues” who insisted upon it, was bullshit.

Hear! Hear! With one caveat, had he really done all of these things, and he may well have, he should have thrown himself on the mercy of the Ethics Committee. I’ve gone back and forth on this but I think this is or would have been the best solution.
