The Not-So-Friendly Skies Over Tsar Trump’s Mar-a-Lago

Read Time:1 Minute, 22 Second

by Glenn R. Geist

I’m close enough to Mar-a-Lago that I heard at least one of the F16 interceptors scaring the living crap out of a hapless private pilot in the not-so-friendly skies on Sunday afternoon.

It occurred virtually overhead, at about 30 miles North of Trump’s Mierda-a-Lago, and rattled the plates in the kitchen. There’s no mistaking an agenda driven fighter jet at treetop level for anything else. It’s LOUD.  I wondered if there was some holiday weekend air show and then forgot about it until yesterday.

Seems some hapless pilot didn’t get the memo that Tzar Trumpsky was in residence and a Temporary Flight Restriction was in effect. I hope he was carrying extra underwear and it’s good that he didn’t panic and landed (under escort) safely.

There have been 27 violations of restricted airspace since President Gatsby took office. I don’t know how many boats using the Intracoastal Waterway have been intercepted or boarded because Trump was in town, but for boats and planes, the Atlantic coast is as much of a highway as I-95 and that particular stretch of the ICW and the Palm Beach Inlet is often jammed and it’s hard to stay in the channel when waiting for the drawbridges. I would be quite nervous.

Trump’s presence is a significant expense and inconvenience for a lot of people, in Palm Beach County in particular, and of course, we have to foot the bill for his golf outings and meetings with the Russian Mafia – but we must have patience. Greatness comes at a price you know – but to us, not to him.

It should quite plain to most Americans that Herr Trump cares nothing at all about their safety or well-being. He cares about making money and collecting power. The first he has, but never enough, and the second he’s working on, daily, at Mar-a-Lago, Camp David, and occasionally the White House. His travels and activities disrupt millions of people, by ground, rail, and by sea and air, but he doesn’t care. Not one bit.

He rarely uses Camp David because it is so .. so… ordinary, you know what I mean. I also don’t think Camp David has a golf course. Plus, look at the money he is making from the government for his golf resorts.

A difference between a cop on a motorcycle and an F16 with rockets under his wings, I’m afraid. But yes, fusses were made when Bill Clinton held up air traffic at LAX while he got a haircut. But this is trump, King of Kings. Look upon his works ye mighty. . .

What amazes me is how you Americans allow this.

There was once a traffic jam on the M4 motorway and then Prime Minister David Cameron was being driven somewhere or other.

The police escort was trying to force a path through the traffic jam until they arrived behind me.

“Move!” Shouted the police officer on his motorbike.

“Why? Who is it?” I asked through my open drivers window.

“The Prime Minister!” Shouted the policeman.

“Fuck him” I replied, “he can sit in this shot just like us”.

The policeman actually laughed – and Cameron’s progress was held up for 5 minutes by yours truly.

You lot need to start being more rebellious!!

You know, in principle I agree with Mike, but, with Trump as the CIC I’ll wager these guys are a little more aggressive than they would be under Obama.

Obama played golf in my town a few times. I don’t remember any incidents, but keep in mind I am about 30 miles away from Trumpskiland. Pretty far away to be swooping down on some unsuspecting private pilot. There’s a bit of danger for all concerned here, including some us on the ground.

While I certainly don’t blame the fighter pilots or the Coast Guard, I do blame the Big Pig for spending so much time at Mar-a-Lago. I also blame the Big Pig for breathing.
