Despite the claim, most places in Florida ban smoking indoors – or at least in my SE part of Florida. And of course we have a very high proportion of people from the North as well as from Canada and Europe. Some come here because they are sick, looking for a better climate.

I’m sure that access to medicare and willingness to use it are a factor but I’m sure there are many others.

Yet these are some of the same people that think they are the superior master race. It shocks me not. I just looked up my little hamlet of Atherton and shock, no seriously I am shocked because I run here, I walk here, I ride my bike here etc. It is a car dependent place. We are only 39/100 for walkability score. That is a failing grade were this a test.

I lived in South Georgia, and, on balance, might go down as one of the worst places. The ignorance is startling and you see it everywhere. As to that walkability score, I’m shocked. You live in Northern California dudette. How did that happen?

Go look it up seriously, I am in one of the toniest areas in the country. We are consistently, year after year, rated really high up on the “this is the place you could never afford to live places, unless you have money coming out of your butt” and many here have drivers, nannies, cleaners etc, basically staff. We have lots of parks in the surrounding areas but you have to drive to get to them. Maybe the fancy people just do not want their feet to touch the ground because icky people have used it before, so walking is out for them 🙂 I really am a strange thing here 🙂
