While We Looked Away Congress Voted To Gut ADA

Read Time:1 Minute, 13 Second

by David P. Greenberg

While the Republicans were raining down  “thoughts and prayers,” Paul Ryan’s House of Pancakes was passing a bill to gut the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

You know, that law that allows wheelchairs to get into libraries and Deaf people to have videophones? Perhaps the single pro-Human, benign, positive, decent piece of Legislation passed since the TVA?

I figured it out. It wasn’t the Russians, Bots, Hillary, or Stein. Doc Brown screwed up the Timeline again. We’re living in Biff Tannen’s America. We’re stuck in “The Upsidedown.” We’re on a space station living a Multiverse Paradox. It was a “glitch” in the Matrix.

Limpdick J Chancresore, his “Cabinet” of Dr. Calgari, Ryan, McConnell, Munchkin the Foreclosure King – Treasurer of the United States – none of that was supposed to happen. Somewhere, in some parallel dimension, it didn’t.

But, how can you gut the fuckin’ ADA? I mean, really? How can you shave your pointy little face, in the morning, looking into your dingy-ass fuckin’ mirror, and strip access rights from disabled people? Who does that? Satan himself is embarrassed by you assholes.

It’s one of those dreams where you keep dreaming that you wake up, and each time you think you’re really awake, you find out you’re still dreaming.

Only, I’d much rather be chased through a Beta-Fugue State, by a Gorn, than live through this nightmare.

“Those disabled people are just a drain on the hardworking men and women who simply want to rebuild the economy of the greatest nation on earth.” Hmmm. Where have I heard that before?

Distraction has become an art form in this government. It’s always been a tactic but since the advent of Brother Pig, it has been polished to a high sheen.

I think of Mark Twain’s Life on the Mississippi: The guy on the bow of the riverboat with the lead line calling out Noooo bottom!

Maybe they enjoy these fatal diversions. Maybe they are reluctant to prevent them, because they are cover for the mischief they do when we’re distracted.
