Britain’s Shambolic Immigration Policies

The current scandal surrounding ‘The Windrush Generation‘ only goes to show the shambolic mess that, for decades, has been Britain’s immigration policy. Caribbeans living and working in Britain for 40, 50 and 60 years suddenly threatened with deportation back to the Caribbean whence they left aged two or something. Monstrous.

There seems to be some ‘issue’ bubbling under regarding referencing ‘The Windrush Generation’. Well, I suppose it’s a ‘label’ and some don’t like being labeled.

It’s just easier to write ‘Windrush generation’ than constantly writing ‘people of African Caribbean descent who began to arrive in Britain in the late 1940’s on a ship called The Empire Windrush’.

Less of a mouthful is ‘Windrush generation’ so it’s not meant as a ‘label’ so just chill out ok?

Anyway. In Britain, it’s coming to something when Caribbeans who have lived and worked here for 40, 50 or 60 years are threatened with deportation whilst we have allowed former jihadis to come back. Madness.

The Windrush generation was invited over to help rebuild Britain after WWII.

That’s called ‘controlled immigration’.

We need them, they want to come, job done.

It’s the uncontrolled immigration over decades that’s caused Britain problems both in numbers terms and cultural terms.

Instead of consecutive governments putting in sensible controls on numbers thus ensuring doctors, nurses and, if we needed them, butchers, bakers and candlestick makers could, thanks to European Union membership, enter and stay, every Tom, Dick, and Mohammed has been allowed in regardless of what, if any, benefit they would bring to Britain.

Migrant crises as middle east personages fled Libya, Syria and so forth haven’t helped numerically either.

Now, it has to be said – well it doesn’t but I’ll say it anyway – statistically, Britain has gained more from immigration than it’s lost.

Unfortunately, with the stupid lack of controls, what Britain has lost is, in some areas, it’s very identity.

When Brits complain that, in some areas where they live, Urdu, Gujurati, Polish or Somalian are the languages more likely to be heard than English and they’re fed up of it, the government, with ever an eye on votes, decide to make life harder for illegal immigrants.

In principle that could be a vote winner.

Unfortunately, in practice, hundreds of the Windrush generation of Caribbean British had their disembarking passes shredded by an imbecilic Home Office and, as a thank you for 40, 50 and 60 years worth of hard work get threatened with deportation.

You couldn’t make it up, could you? Well, I couldn’t anyway.

So. Here we are. Returning jihadis allowed to remain. Uncontrolled immigration over decades putting an intolerable strain on our infrastructure – not helped by consecutive governments failing abysmally to invest sufficiently in it – immigrant ‘ghettos’ were the English language is alien. A government looking for votes from Brits fed up with it all.

The British government’s solution?

Shred Windrush disembarking cards removing evidence of a right to be here and send some 70-year-old grandmothers to Jamaica whence they left aged two with their parents.

The shambles that has been, and remains, Britain’s attempts at immigration policies.

My grandad would do a better job – and he’s 25 years dead.

I’m with you Neil, if they don’t speak English, send them home. Better still, don’t let them in.

If only your mom had said that to your dad when they did the sexytimes to make you, we would not be having this conversation at all.

….and precisely where did I say anything remotely like that?

You know, one has to wonder exactly when this whole thing about countries being set up and immigration or not was designed. When one thinks about those two things and throws in religion you suddenly have the causes of 99% of all wars. Maybe the world should have just stay “open range”.

It was the EU that caused these problems in Britain Mr. Neil so what’s your problem may I enquire? People of all colours and stripes living here now expecially in London.

Howdo Paul.

You’re quite right. It’s primarily The EU that have caused the numbers of immigrants.

In fairness, had consecutive governments over decades remotely adequately invested in the infrastructure it would have been doable.

Still. We are where we are….which, at the moment seems to be elderly Caribbean British people being targeted.

Bloody disgraceful if you ask me.

I love Caribbean life myself. Been to several Notting Hill Carnivals. Even remember a couple 😀👍🍻🍻🍻🍻

What? Get out of it Norman. For years you’ve been rattling on about the EU being responsible for uncontrolled immigration, and now you say you’re not? Bollocks. I’ve not one tiny bit of doubt about who is telling the truth here and who just bloody forgot what they wrote, and thanks to your local no doubt.

Edit away by all means but please don’t put words I never wrote mate!

Yes, you did Neil. As a matter of fact, you dedicated an entire sentence to it, which I edited because it said essentially the same thing as the preceding sentence, and placed those exact three words in the preceding sentence. I NEVER put words contributors don’t write in a piece unless it looks like a word is missing. Again, these are your words. Not mine.
