Unhinged Man Punches Pregnant Deaf Woman and Her Service Dog While On Frontier Flight
Violence erupted on a Frontier flight Thursday and spilled into Orlando International Airport when a passenger allegedly punched a deaf pregnant woman and her service dog, the Orlando Sentinel reports. It began when passenger Timothy Manley’s wife complained about being allergic to the Great Dane, so he punched it, making the dog yelp and hide under the seat, police say.
The dog’s deaf owners, Matthew Silva and fiancee Hazel Ramirez, shouted and signed angrily at the Manleys as the plane taxied to the gate. WFTV has cell phone video showing Silva, 30, kicking Manley, 59, in his seat.
At some point, Manley allegedly punched 20-week-pregnant Ramirez in the stomach, and Silva tackled Manley in the terminal—apparently to keep him there until police arrived.
Later, Manley’s wife Petrini told WFTV that her husband just swatted the service dog by mistake when it startled him, but she told police that it began when “the larger service animal took up more space than Timothy felt it deserved.”
None involved accepted medical treatment, but Ramirez, 21, says she will prosecute. The FBI is investigating because it started on an airplane, and will decide whether to press charges.

I really don’t care if I ever fly again. I remember when flying was elegant (DC9 aircraft), people dressed, meals were nicely prepared and presented fare. Now flying has all the class of a Peruvian mountain bus. I used to qualify that by adding “sans the chickens and pigs”…. but obviously that is no longer necessary. Truth be known though, I think I’d prefer a nice goat over many of the “people” (and I use the term loosely)that I’ve seen/heard about on commercial aircraft lately.
What kind of a man punches a woman, let alone a pregnant, deaf one? And as for the poor dog…
Whoa! Wait a minute. The purpose of the dog is to be of “service” to the person for who the service is being rendered. So, the guy punches the dog and then the person. Was there any discussion before the fists began to fly? I doubt that the dog understood, “Hey, you are taking up too much space”! And this occurred as the plane was taxiing to the gate which means the flight was within minutes of being over. Geez. Get a grip people.
At least one airline is ending the service animal policy and people are indeed abusing it. Nobody who can’t be without their goat needs to be on an airplane with me. That goes double for a security pig.
But why is nobody noticing that the country and perhaps the world is going crazy?
And also – do we consider Orlando Florida or a separate Rodent State?
So I can’t bring my security T Rex on planes is what you are saying Glenn ;).
They can’t end it completely, as service animals are protected under the ADA. They are, however, prohibiting certain animals, which makes sense, although I expect that decision will end up in court.
Florida gets a bad rep with some of it residents. Yeah swatted big old Great Dane by mistake, what was it, hiding under Harry Potter’s invisible cloak or something. What assholes, hitting a dog like that and a pregnant woman but mainly the dog, because dogs cannot fight back or they are put down for biting or some such.
I think this asshole needs to be put down.
