Brett Kavanaugh—Another Donald Trump

Read Time:2 Minute, 26 Second

As much as I hate it I am going to talk about our newest justice, Brett Kavanaugh. I know, this is not that much of a stretch but hey, somebody has to do it. He has all of the credentials Republicans have been dreaming about for decades and willing to do anything to get.

Brett Kavanaugh is a whiny, sniffling kind of man who is used to getting what he wants not because he earned it but because he feels he is entitled to it. He showed that very much so in his response to Dr. Ford’s accusation. Now, like everyone else, I have no more proof that the event he was accused of happened like Dr. Ford said or not. What I do know is that he showed all of the indications of being another Donald Trump.

I spent a total of three weeks being trained by a former Mossad agent in detecting lies and deception in statements in 1989 and 1990. This on top of another week being trained by the Reid Agency in interrogation. It is really a very simple process that almost everyone knows but does not think about. People usually do not actually lie which is requires constructing a completely different sequence of the facts. Instead, they try to manipulate the facts that are presented to make it appear that they did not do something.

They also, like Donald Trump does so often, answer a question with a question. In this, they are avoiding answering the question altogether. Or, in other cases, shift the answer to the answer off to a third party. In Kavanaugh’s case, he really is not sure whether he did assault Dr. Ford or not, but it is in the realm of possibilities that he did it while out of his mind drunk.

If you remember his tactics in his statement he launched into an all-out attack not so much directly denying the allegation as blaming others for him even being accused. He also tried to give a reason for the attack on him by the conspirators, i.e., politics and his youthful drinking habits. The concept of attacking the attackers is a tactic as old as the hills on the western plains.

At this point of the hearing, in my opinion, is where Kavanaugh truly should have lost the nomination. Not just because he was not telling the truth, which should have been enough, but because he had lost his cool. He clearly showed that he did not have the temperament to be a judge at all much less a Supreme Court Justice. What is happening, or should say happened, are they put a “Donald Trump” on the United States Supreme Court with a lifetime appointment.

Dear God, if there is one, I had never wanted to be wrong so much in my entire life, and it turns out I wasn’t.

Bill, you are so right! Kavanaugh’s shameful performance was certainly Trumpian, and, for the life of me, I don’t see how he can possibly rule on anything that isn’t a conflict of interest.

Mike does a hell of an edit I understand, at least I’ve read Neil’s occasional complaints and assume it to be true Bill. Regardless this is a really good article, and out of the mainstream Kavanaugh/Trump whine, which is appreciated.
