Creeping Fascism, Little by Little…

by Glenn R. Geist

…bit by bit…

…Fascism creeps at its petty pace comes in on little cat’s feet and goose steps down our boulevards. And we watch football we read about video games in the news, the latest cell phone, the latest thing at McDonald’s.

So the “court thing is over” and we’re glad of it and we’re sorry we annoyed such an exemplary man by pointing out his peccadilloes but sorrier that we annoyed the great leaders at their task of making us great.

Did we notice reports that Trump is compiling a list of Facebook critics, their names, addresses, and passwords? Did we notice him trying to buy votes in Iowa by eliminating restrictions on the amount of alcohol in motor fuel? OK, maybe you did if you own and operate a boat because Ethanol soaks up water and eats away at fuel lines and filters and even fuel tanks and can kill you when your engines fail, but most likely you don’t care. He’ll sell it as “environmental” no matter how much pollution goes into producing it.

Little by little. One thing after another, and there are too many to catch them all and it’s too easy to buy the explanations and join in the dismissive laughter and after all, I’m not even on Facebook and my emails are password protected, aren’t they?

Not all of them unfortunately Bill. I’m regularly shocked by the type of person who supports this bonehead. Yesterday, a professor friend of mine surprised me when he talked about how Mr. Trump is going to ferret out the deep state.

Mike, after talking with a few people who are actually smart (small minded articulate rat tards) I have concluded that people can turn their brains on and off at will depending on their goals in life. The Trumpers want a culture and a country ruled by old white men with a lot of money. You know, the golden rule. Whoever has the gold rules.

I like to think there are enough checks and balances in place to prevent such a thing from happening in America. I might be wrong.

Have you not noticed that it has already been happening. When was the last time you knew of a President openly making a profit off his running of the country, giving jobs to his family and friends whether qualified or not, and threatening to fire people in his administration if they did not protect him?

Of course it could happen here. The biggest Nazi rally during the 1930s, after Nuremberg, was in New York City at Madison Square Garden. The sentiment still survives.

It’s slow at first then it picks up steam and that’s whats happening to America as well as other countries.

I feel real despair at the lack of massive repudiation of this cheesy, bumbling, transparent malignant oaf is taking over our entire system of government. It’s nice to hear from people who also see what’s happening, but I fear it’s not enough. The whole country is so bound up in manufactured rage and narrow minded selfishness and the young who one might count on to turn the tide don’t vote being too caught up in the pop culture manufactured to keep them home. Indeed polls are rather scary when they show that generation not to be very concerned with liberty and open government as long as nobody is personally insulted. Voter suppression, Gerrymandering and all those tricks are working and all I see ahead of us is Trumpworld, something capitalistic but more akin to what we have in China.
