You may have heard it in a blues song or a sermon. Sometimes those are interchangeable anyway, But it’s time we listened.
When you accept rage as your personal savior, you’re handing him the wheel. The party formerly known as the Republicans – who used to call themselves conservatives, gave up control to the hate mongers, rage addicts, bigots: the brown shirts, the rednecks and White supremacists in order to overcome their minority status and in order to sell their greedy policies.
It worked, but of course, it was the Devil’s bargain and the devil will have his due. So guess who’s driving this van now, plastered with hate slogans, filled with explosives. Did you think he wouldn’t demand payment? The doors are locked, the fuse is lit and he’s headed into the crowd. Sinner, where you gonna run to? Where you gonna hide?
