The True Signs of a Dying Republican Party

There are certain things that always ring true when something, a marriage, a relationship or a business are on the verge of failure. Blatant lies are one of these things. Sometimes subtle but they usually end up being shouted as whatever is failing sinks further.

A cheapening of things is also common. Whether it be a failing restaurant buying cheap ingredients to increase its profit. Or a retailer marketing cheaper merchandise and cutting sales staff to keep its margins high enough to stay in business. Then the business lies about its quality or service when anyone who has shopped or dined there knows things have gone downhill and they just don’t go there anymore. Sears is a great example. It’s been going downhill for years. They can blame Amazon if they want but the truth is people just got tired of lousy selection, lousy customer service, or worse, a pushy salesman trying to shove a worthless maintenance agreement down their throats.

Pizza Hut used to have a really good pizza. It hasn’t been for years now. It’s cheapened ingredients and is trying to compete on price. There are gas stations that sell better pizza than a place called Pizza Hut. These vendors are relying on the loyalty of people who have always been loyal to them to keep them afloat. And I suppose there are still plenty of people that still go to Sears or Pizza Hut since that’s what they’ve always done. They may have even convinced themselves the food or the service and merchandise weren’t that bad. But failing companies won’t grow. They will only fail. It’s just a matter of time since there is nothing to make anyone that isn’t loyal to them already want to go there. This is now a problem for the Republican party.

This is actually a huge problem. Like my Republican self, we vote Republican cause that’s what we do. Just like a loyal Pizza Hut customer thinks the pizza is good, we Republicans think nonsense like tax cuts for the wealthiest and walls to keep out Mexicans and shooting unarmed black guys is good. Even though there is no evidence of any kind that shows these things to be true. So rather than show facts that support these lies, our leaders simply shout them louder.

Climate change has been in the news since the latest devastating hurricane now going through Florida. Republicans deny climate change because that’s what we’re told to do. Although the evidence clearly shows it’s occurring and occurring rapidly. But President Trump isn’t “convinced” so that’s all the facts we need. Whenever climate change is brought up most of our talking heads shout about it and how it isn’t proven and there are no facts to prove it. Apparently yelling is good enough for us republicans that something is true or false. So we are lying and yelling. But what about our merchandise? Surely we have good people to vote for. Men and women of integrity and independent thought? Well… No. We don’t.

Of course, we gave the country a guy that shouts lies constantly in President Trump. He’s tried to sell us on the magnificence of his presidency. Sadly the stock market is down 500 points as of this writing but if Trump yells loud enough it will be great. He’s filled his campaign and administration with liars and criminals. His National Security Advisor, General Flynn has pleaded guilty to crimes. As has his former campaign manager Paul Manafort just to name a couple of pieces of cheap merchandise republicans have sold America.

We were just sold a cheap version of a Supreme Court Justice in Brett Kavanaugh. Loyal Republican senators voted to confirm him. Even a Democrat voted for his confirmation. I figure Joe Manchin must shop at Sears and eat at Pizza Hut also.

Our Republican problem is that nobody new will come to join us. That leaves us shouting the same lies to those that are loyal and would vote Republican even if it was Hitler. And we have to make up more lies to keep the people that like our lies happy. And hopefully, these lies keep those who wouldn’t vote republican away from the polls out of disgust. But this may not work anymore. Rarely do people vote for something. They usually vote against someone or something. It got Hillary in the last election. This will bite Trump in the ass in 2020 unless the Democrats run somebody we’ve had decades to trash with our propaganda.  I don’t even think the Dems are that dumb.  But seeing as how the republican party will not get any larger, it’s really our only hope.

Perhaps the Democrats will take solace from these words. Most likely this will be ignored as Democrats and lefties, in general, are ego driven intellectually smug fools that want nothing more than to correct someone on Facebook than swallow their pride and win elections by voting for a Democrat in a red state that might be pro-gun.  But the party of the future is the Democratic Party. The Republican party has a few cycles left in it but in reality, we don’t care since we have the Supreme Court locked up the next 30 years. That’s plenty of time to help our rich people get more riches. Then we can buy whatever party replaces the Republican and start over. There will always be racists, religious zealots and idiots to exploit. We just have to wait for complacency to set in once the electoral map turns blue. It will and we’ll be back. We just won’t have to shout our lies. Not at first anyway.
