Mary Barra Has a Good “Caring Face”

Mary Barra

I refuse to watch afternoon feel-good shows as most are hosted by women whose greatest talent is making a face that looks like they actually care about whoever is in front of their audience telling another sob story.

Sure, some of the sob stories are really sad but life isn’t fair. At least it isn’t to the poor folks with the sob stories. It’s really fair to the men and women paid big bucks to pretend they care though.

Ricki Lake was the first hostess I remember that wore the caring face. I didn’t care for it so I didn’t watch. Plenty of people did though and she’s wealthy and I’m not so maybe I should have tried pretending to care for money.

The two ladies on NBC’s Today show wear the caring face. Savannah’s caring face is particularly irritating to me. I just don’t believe she or Hoda really care that much or they wouldn’t be using these poor people who need caring as fodder for their shows.

The lady who I find wearing the caring face in the most despicable manner lately is the CEO of General Motors: Mary Barra. This woman must have had the caring face surgically implanted as it’s the only face I’ve ever seen wear.

She wore it when she got promoted to CEO. She wore it when she apologized for some naughtiness GM was doing before it promoted her even though I think she was there and knew full well all the naughtiness that was going on there. But she at least looked like she cared so maybe that’s why she was promoted since all you’re going to get from a corporation that’s giving the public or it’s employees a good screwing is somebody to yell at that looks like he or she cares.

Mary’s latest thing she is caring facing over is GM’s decision to stop manufacturing some cars and shutting down some plants and laying off up to 15,000 people. She is working her caring face overtime since GM is moving production overseas also.  I imagine President Trump has called her about this stuff but he doesn’t care either but I respect him for at least not pretending too much that he cares when he doesn’t give any more of a damn about the sob stories of a bunch of working stiffs than Mary Barra or Ricki Lake or Hoda or Savannah.

Mary and GM actually did Trump a huge favor by giving him a subject to speak to his minions that show up to his gatherings. They’d much rather hear that Trump yelled at and threatened a CEO than tell them the auto bailouts worked and GM is still building cars here in America.

That GM decided to stop building cars that weren’t selling isn’t Trump’s fault. It’s supply and demand.  Unless Trump’s tariffs made it more economically feasible for GM to build plants overseas that retrofit the ones in America.  Hard to say. But even if GM’s plan turns out to be a failure Mary and her executives don’t care since they’re all rich anyway so if any suffering is done it will be done by the rank and file employees of GM. And I’m sure Marry Barra will give them all a well-rehearsed caring face as she sends them their final paychecks.  That should make them all feel better.

Tucker Carlson has that same face. To me it looks like they are constipated.

I’ve wondered if it isn’t more than that for Tucker and other Fox things. The Foxface always looks more like the open casket, mortuary make-up look. The only question is whether these are living creatures and if so if they are human underneath the grease paint.

Loyalty to a country that saved them from bankruptcy? Capitalism doesn’t allow for such sentiment.

Right on Joe. It is the same old song and the same old melody. In fact they have not even changed the beat. The good old boys (and girls) club of the corporations and the wealthy love the tax break that Donald Trump gave them. He thought they would like him more but the con man was conned. They don’t like him any better than they did before. The game is the same. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
The wealthy do not understand that there is an end game here. When they starve out the poor and middle class there will no longer be anyone to do their bidding and buy their products they will become stagnate and start feeding off each other. In the end the one with all the money wins, but then what. He or she faces the real end because money is no longer any good because there is nothing left to buy.

That is a part of conservatives I don’t understand. The average working person can not afford a serious medical problem to occur in their family and they cannot afford good health insurance that will shield them from a financial catastrophe. Why they fight against a national health insurance simply astounds me. Had they join ranks on the Affordable Care Act it would have been a really good program once they got the bugs out. Just like Medicare it would have stood the test of time. What was really funny was the conservatives who were older were screaming do not touch my Medicare. It is sad that so many are so stupid about what the government does for them.
