I guess the big question will be is whether the Democratic House of Representatives put enough heat on Trump to make him quit, which is highly unlikely. Trump will continue to not govern except on his own pet issues which rile his base. The rest of the governmental process will just go to “hell in a handbasket,” whatever that means. I believe that Trump can probably count on not getting his wall. I don’t think there is a deal sweet enough for the House to give him that unless of course, Mexico does agree to pay for it.
Another big question on my mind is whether the Democrats will make Trump and the Republican party pay for their misdeeds over the past two years. I sort of doubt it, but occasionally wonders do occur when you least expect them. The Democrats have always tended to be the party of rational thinking and I am not sure this will be the time they change since there is a danger of being seen as obstructionists. Just once though I would like to see them be less pragmatic and kick them in the teeth. Just once I would like to see the smirk on McConnell’s face turn into a grimace knowing that his days are numbered.
It is sad, I know, when one has to wish in one hand and crap in the other because the one with the crap always gets filled first, however, I really wish that, just once, Trump would be caught in something of which there is no way he could not lie or maneuver his way out. Michael Moore pointed out last night that Trump should not complain about GM’s layoffs because they have done the same thing repeatedly. Actually, so has Trump. They took his big tax cut and essentially said “Screw You.” Which is nice because that is what he has been saying to the American people for the last two years.
Michael Moore also pointed out that Trump was never liked by the wealthy people in corporate America and the Wall Street people and they never would let him in their little clubs. He railed against them in the campaign but he did them a big favor with the tax cut and made them richer and they applauded him. But, now, alas, he is back to being the same old Donald Trump and they are saying, “What have you done for me lately.” Even with the prestige of the Office of the President of the United States, he is still an outsider.
The rich people know him for what he is and for what he is good for. He is a good for nothing con artist. That is why his current playmates are the Saudis and the Russians. No one at his level in America wants anything to do with him. His desire to be worshiped only works on those who are literally praying for a better life, but they are praying to Donald Trump and he is far from being a god. If money is the root of all evil Donald Trump is the seed that provided the root. If there is any such thing as an anti-Christ Donald Trump taught him how to be it. Donald Trump makes Idi Amin and Sadaam Hussein look like nice guys to go out and have a beer with occasionally.
I have a suggestion, if he is ever convicted of anything, that I think would be completely appropriate. I think Trump should be banished to one of the many uninhabited islands that it owns that is far from anywhere other people reside. Those who worship him would be free to join him but all, including Trump and his family, should give up their American citizenship. That would then make them immigrants if they ever wanted to come back. Then Trump could be his authoritarian self and his worshipers could continue their inane desire to please their orange headed god all they wanted and they would not bother us any longer. Actually, I don’t care if he is convicted or not, just send them all there so I can get some rest. And, yes, The animals would be given safe passage off the island so they would not be slaughtered by his sons.
Sounds like a plan to me.
