Trump: ‘Totally Cleared?” Just a Minute Says Kellyanne’s Hubby George
Trump’s take on news about sentencing recommendations for his ex-attorney, Michael Cohen:
“Totally cleared”
Kellyanne Conway’s husband, however, sees it his own way. To recap:
“Totally clears the president. Thank you…!”
…the president tweeted after federal prosecutors said Cohen should receive substantial prison time despite his cooperation.
But Conway’s husband, George Conway, has a different take:
“Except for that little part where the US Attorney’s Office says that you directed and coordinated with Cohen to commit two felonies. Other than that, totally scot-free.”
The Washington Post notes that Conway went on to post other tweets, including a satirical headline from the Onion—”Giuliani Insists Breaking the Law Not a Crime”—and a headline from the Nixon days, “President: ‘I’m not a crook,'” along with a comment from presidential historian Michael Beschloss: “What’s old is new again.” Conway’s tweetstorm arrived on the heels of a sharp comment from the president’s son, Eric Trump, earlier this week:
“Of all the ugliness in politics, the utter disrespect George Conway shows toward his wife, her career, place of work, and everything she has fought SO hard to achieve, might top them all,” he tweeted.
Eric’s missive followed Conway’s suggestion that the president may have been involved in witness tampering.
