Donald Trump And The Offended Generation

Trump’s avatar, the Baby Blimp, arrives in London ahead of his visit, as do thousands of protesters.

by Neil Bamforth

President Donald J. Trump has arrived for a state visit to London, AKA Blighty, and some people are unhappy with this. Absolutely fine and dandy. We are a liberal democracy and, as such, people have every right to state their views on any topic under the sun. They have a right to peaceful protest too, if they feel the need. Nobody who values our freedoms would believe anything else.

At the time of writing, it is being said that tens of thousands of people, up and down the country, are intending to protest at the presence of Donald Trump on our shores. Again, absolutely fine and dandy.

Trump isn’t high on my own personal list of people I like either. I am uncertain how much that is said about him is true and how much is false but, I tend to err on the side of believing much of it, if only because he actually tweets most of it.

Speaking of Trump tweets, he fired off a broadside at London Mayor Khan just as Air Force One was coming in to land at Stansted Airport.

While I find myself, usually, either shocked or amused by his tweets, there are occasions when he does actually ‘nail it’ so to speak.

Trump tweeted about the London Mayor: “who by all accounts has done a terrible job as Mayor of London, has been foolishly “nasty” to the visiting President of the United States, by far the most important ally of the United Kingdom. He is a stone cold loser who should focus on crime in London, not me……”

Now, I have to say, albeit Trump’s tweet it is far from the usual diplomatic style we were used to before he came on the scene, Khan is about as popular as a dose of measles with many Londoners so, to be honest, he really should be focusing on the alarming rise in knife crime on our streets than pontificating about Trump.

Trump’s tweet then continued : “….Kahn reminds me very much of our very dumb and incompetent Mayor of NYC, de Blasio, who has also done a terrible job – only half his height. In any event, I look forward to being a great friend to the United Kingdom, and am looking very much forward to my visit. Landing now!”

I have absolutely no idea who de Blasio is – other than now knowing he is the Mayor of New York – so I can’t comment on whether he is, or isn’t dumb and incompetent. Khan, however, does seem to be increasingly so.

You are The Mayor of London Sadiq. Try acting like it, for once. Try focusing on the problems of London and not involving yourself in squabbles that are, frankly, way above your pay grade.

Now, back to the protests that are planned.

Where were these tens of thousands of people, up and down the country, when the Saudi Prince turned up? Where were they when the Chinese leader came?

That is where the hypocrisy comes in.

The Saudi and Chinese regimes are blatantly worse than Trump. Those regimes are absolutely appalling. They make Trump look more like Mother Theresa than the lunatic he can be.

Why were there not tens of thousands out protesting against Blighty allowing the heads of these regimes to come on over?

I’ll tell you why.

Britain’s offended generation are too busy screaming about Trump. Trump is from a country with a similar culture to our own. A country that is, to all intents and purpose, like ours, a liberal democracy.

They won’t come out in droves to protest against the Saudi or Chinese regime because then, they will have to admit that some ‘cultures’ are unacceptable in a western liberal democracy.

They can’t do that can they? If they do, then they would be admitting the cultural difficulties within our borders.

Mayor Sadiq Khan, and people of his ilk, are the true fascists.

They don’t actually like America at all. They view the USA as a colonial power. They hate the fact that the USA is, arguably, still the most powerful country on the planet. They hate the USA and all the USA stands for.

They won’t protest against leaders of some of the most abhorrent regimes on the planet visiting our shores, but they will protest against the President of our closest and dearest ally.

Yes, it has to be said, Trump is a magnet for these protesters. Yes, he does bring it on himself somewhat. That is why nobody who believes in our liberal democracy has any problem with people protesting against his visit.

The problem is simply the hypocrisy of the protesters.

What ever else the protesters have, they have hypocrisy by the bucket full.

Neil, one must look the comparison between The Donald and any other leader in the world from a broader perspective. He is roughly akin to color blind bull in a china shop painted blood red inside and out. Assuming said bull never sees any color but red, especially blood red, where ever he walks he creates havoc. Comparing him to the Saudi regime is like comparing a mountain to a mole hill. The Saudis have not the capability of starting a world war, Trump is profiting from making them a major power source on the world stage, just as he is doing with Little Kim in North Korea. He tweets ignorance on a daily basis and his mind cannot on stay focused longer than it takes to type out a tweet. His mental status is roughly that of a Tasmanian Devil. If their is no chaos, he will be sure to create it. Prior to his arrival at the White House England was seen as a stanch ally to the U. S. Now he has turned most NATO countries into a question mark when he keeps pushing against them. He has managed to fuck up our relations with the rest of the world.

Cherries : the far left invariably use abuse against any view they don’t like – as you have just done.

I wanted Sadiq Khan to succeed but, sadly, he didn’t and, increasingly, he has lost much of his early popularity.

That is not a right wing view, it is merely a view.

You are more than welcome to disagree of course, but a little word to the wise!

Your far left fascism just popped out.

You are 100% correct in all you’ve said! I haven’t read all the responses yet but wanted to respond to you. Norman /Neil is so obviously a right wing **** who tries to come across as the opposite. Mayor Khan is brilliant and a wise and sensible man the antithesis of trump who most people can’t stand including my friends in America.

Jacob… Good point!!! 😁

Mike… True. I’m getting carried away – OI!!! Who said “he should be”? – I’ll stick to Saudi, China etc.

The point I’m making is few, if any, protest against far worse regime leaders than Trump. He’s a bad’n and, as Jacob says, he could get worse, but let’s have some consistency against all the bad ones!!

hmm….”I don’t like some of the things Trump says / does but he isn’t as bad as the Chinese or Saudi leaders.”….Neil, he hasn’t been at it as long and give him time….

Hello Peaches dear. How are you?

So China, Iran and North Korea aren’t a threat then?

The Saudi’s exporting of Wahaddism isn’t a threat then?

What are you on love?… And can I have some? 😂🤣😂🤣😂

So precisely when did the leaders of Iran and North Korea enjoy a state visit and lunch with the queen old bean? Really would like to know because the whole premise of your argument was that thousands only protest against Trump’s visits but they don’t protest against the visits of the other leaders you mention.

I think you’ve missed Mike’s point Boris. Trump is despicably horrible and threatens the fucking world! The other leaders you mention don’t do that. Get it you Brexit Baby? FFS!!!!!! Stop trying to bullshit us there UKIP.

Excuse me??? Trump is worse than Saudi leaders??? The ones who behead people in public??? The ones who kill people for being gay???? The ones who have journalists murdered in their own embassies????

As for China, well, really???? Iran is better is it???? Pakistan, North Korea….

Yes, Trump is unpredictable and often unpleasant, but anyone who thinks he’s worse than the Saudi’s and the above needs a shrink!!!!

Trumps is an asshole of the highest order that is a crook and that is what they are protesting . He went the coward’s way, like he always does, and was tweeting about the mayor while he was still coming into London. Know what I am going to a high school graduation ceremony for one of the kids I helped get through school this morning and I am not fucking up my beautiful mind with dolt45 and his bullshit this early. I’m out because after the ceremony I am off to surf in Santa Cruz.

I did like Khan when he was elected. I naively thought he would be a good Mayor. Sadly I was very wrong about him, as we’re many Londoner.

He has let us all down badly.

As to the New York Mayor. First time, I think, I’d heard of him. Certainly not for me to judge him!

I don’t like some of the things Trump says / does but he isn’t as bad as the Chinese or Saudi leaders.

He’s far worse than the Chinese or Saudi leaders because he’s stupid and dangerous to the world because of that stupidity. At least the Chinese and Saudis only harm their own people. Dumb ass Trump can kill the world.

I’m puzzled old bean. According to the article you wrote when Khan was elected you liked him and even stressed the fact he was elected with 57% of the vote so Londoners obviously liked him. Perhaps it’s because you secretly like Trump? 🙂 New York Mayor Bill de Blasio is like 6’8″ tall and is running against Trump, so Trump hates him. As to the protesters, the people are not protesting against the administration, but against Trump as an individual. He is a despicable human being, the like of which America has never seen in its seat of power. Other world leaders, despite what they may or may not do, are actual leaders, unlike Trump, who is hated by most of the world, except the Right Wingers or course.
