If you’re reading this it’s likely you are an animal lovers, so be sure to send positive vibes to little Felix, a 1-year-old tabby cat who survived a scary 35-minute ride in a washing machine last week—but barely.

Felix’s Minnesota owner, Stefani Carroll-Kirchoff, says the cat must’ve jumped in her open washing machine as she turned her back to grab more clothes to throw in. “The clothes were dark and he is dark and the room was dimly lit,” she tells USA Today.

Felix spent more than half an hour getting thrown around with an extra-large load of laundry before Carroll-Kirchoff opened the washer door, saw a paw, and heard a meow. It’s certainly a good thing she had selected the express wash.  Little Felix would never have survived a full wash.

An emergency trip to the vet revealed Felix was in critical condition with a concussion, suspected hypothermia, and bruises all over his body. He was also suffering from temporary blindness and pneumonia after the incident.

Stefani hasn’t been sleeping much since. “This will haunt me for the rest of my life,” she tells Fox News, which reports Felix’s recovery will take several weeks. Carroll-Kirchoff’s daughter, Asha Carroll McCullough, launched a GoFundMe page to cover expenses of more than $1,000 a day—more than $15,000 has been raised in a week—noting the cat was recuperating in an oxygen chamber.

As of Sunday, Felix, still on oxygen, was starting to eat and his vision was returning. “We feel so, so lucky,” McCullough tells Fox. “He is the miracle cat.”

If cats have 9 lives it’s because they need them. Sleeping under the hoods of cars and in driers takes a toll.

But parents, don’t push your kids to become doctors. Vets make more money.

I always have to check my dryer when I do laundry because my older cat LucyFur loves to go in there for the heat. She is really stupid that way. When everything is in the basket I find her snuggled in my brand new washed clothes. Cat hair is an accessory around this house. My best friend hates doing his laundry here because he gets cat hair on everything because LF jumps in the basket for the warmth. I tell him he is more than welcome to drive to the laundry on University Ave, where he can pay for the privilege but then I am met with bitch I can do it here for free why would I go to the laundromat… then he is met with then shut the fuck up about my cat and her hair. We love each other really, like brother and sister 🙂

Dog hair is the same thing. I am an equal opportunity hair person 🙂 Luckily bf is not allergic and has no objections to animals, or I would have to rid myself of him**.

** Come on, you know I would totally do this because I could not be with someone who does not like animals.
