Reparations for Slavery? Ideas Like That Won’t Get Democrats Elected

Today, Cory ‘Spartacus’ Booker, is demanding reparations for slavery. Now, that’s an interesting idea and one that needs to be considered, but not now. Donald Trump has been president for about two and a half years and has wreaked havoc on this country, but none of it had to do with slavery reparations.
When Democrats go off on these bizarre tangents, none of which will garner the support of the majority of Americans, including Democrats, they pave the road for a Trump victory. Stick to going after Trump for what he’s done, and is about to do, not bringing up issues that are not timely. Do that when you win, which Booker will not.
Is it important to consider such liberal issues? Of course it is, but at the moment Democrats need to fix their political sights on taking Trump out, and slavery reparations won’t do it. At present the economy is ticking right along, and if Trump knew how to turn that to his advantage it would be a huge advantage indeed in the upcoming election.
There’s always the off chance someone in his fumbling administration might be able to convince him to use the economy as a cudgel against his opponents those opponents need to know how to block and parry it. They also need to know how to take it away from him and use it to their advantage. Again, slavery reparations won’t do it.
Time and again, Democrats fail to think smart, leading one to believe they had never read The Art of War or The Prince. I recommend both books be required reading for the Democratic candidates, before it’s too late, and the clock is ticking.
When Booker and other candidates suggest uber-liberal policies it shakes me to the core, because we the people cannot abide another four years in this garden of beasts. At some point he’s likely to enter those deadly codes, and then it will be too late for all of us. Already I sense a gathering darkness and I am afraid. You should be as well.

No, in fact it will intensify racism. People struggling to make ends meet, and that’s a lot of people, are going to be irate. This couldn’t come at a worse time and yet the proponents seem jubilant. I wonder if trying to undo the past isn’t as futile and dangerous as trying to bring it back.
If paying descendents of slaves would end racism I’d be all for it. But of course it won’t and neither will reparations happen. What concerns me most is that Democrats get sucked into this thing. It’s very existence is not to deliver justice or satisfaction. It’s number one purpose is to give republicans anther issue to scare bigots into continued support of them. Booker fell into the trap. It exposes him as a mental lightweight. I wasn’t voting for him anyway so I’m not disappointed at his seizing this issue. He really has nothing else other than to hope Blacks will run to him. Barack Obama was inspiring. Corey is a mediocrity. Unfortunately mediocrity isn’t a disqualifying trait in politics.
Booker is the reason I am – as of today – no longer a Democrat; not that I was a strong one yesterday. Democratic self righteousness and moral pomposity are indeed going to give us 4 more years of neo-fascism and probably recession.
“It’s all about me” is the song of a bunch of special interests and sure, give everyone who claims slave ancestry a check, but screw the poorest, most downtrodden and oppressed. I won’t go into the near impossibility of equitably passing out money, but I will say that most of what I hear from people about why they support Trump has to do with the Democrats’ image as the party of gender dysphoria, the language police, the crusaders against democracy and the punishers of enemies; the hunters of witches and the constant scourge of the Middle Class.
I’m looking for a candidate who will participate in the democratic process which consists of debating, arguing, educating and presenting of the viewpoints of all Americans. That’s not him.
Trump will be re-elected if idiots like Booker represent the Democratic Party.
