Texas Governor Signs Bill ‘Save Chick-fil-A’—Will Hurt Gay Community
It should come as no surprise that Chick-fil-A has a fan in Texas Gov. Greg Abbott. On Monday he signed into law a bill that blocks “adverse action” against the restaurant and other businesses and persons for contributions to religious groups. Chick-fil-A is a notorious hate organization that embraces the bible like an alcoholic embraces the bottle.
The bizarre “Save Chick-fil-A” law will take effect Sept. 1 and it stems from a decision to block a Chick-fil-A restaurant from opening at San Antonio’s airport. In March, councilman Roberto Trevino reportedly said the city did “not have room in our public facilities for a business with a legacy of anti-LGBTQ behavior,” referencing donations to Christian groups including the Salvation Army, per Fox News.
Opponents of the bill, however, fear the legislation meant to protect constitutional rights, fast-tracked in the GOP-controlled legislature, will only lead to discrimination, however, as Americans should know by now, the GOP has no conscience, as they are convinced they are doing the will of the lord, and their constituents of course.
Members of the new LGBTQ Caucus stood arm in arm, urging Republicans to kill the bill, as it passed the House with a 79-64 vote last month, per Dallas News. “This bill is aimed at me. It’s about reminding those of us who have never belonged not to get too comfortable,” said openly gay Democratic Rep. Jessica Gonzalez.
The bill’s sponsor in the House, GOP Rep. Matt Krause, said Chick-fil-A was being unfairly targeted for donations to groups also supported by Walmart and Home Depot. Per ThinkProgress, Chick-fil-A donated in 2017 almost $1.7 million to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes—whose employee policy requiring “sexual purity” bans “homosexual acts”—and $6,000 to the Paul Anderson Youth Home, which labels same-sex marriage as a “rage against Jesus Christ.” Now that’s a lot of Christian hate.

One kind of “adverse action” they cannot ban is ignoring the place. If it’s true that they have the right to support whom they will, we have the same right. Hell no, just don’t go. They operate on slim margins and if you eat elsewhere they feel it.
This reminds me of the laws some States have passed, forbidding anyone to film or report about animal abuse.
It also reminds me of why Commercial Christians support totalitarian leaders in the hope that the power they lost in the American Revolution will be restored.
Won’t eat here at all. I cannot tell you how many times I have smacked my best friend who is a gay man because he spends money here. OH but Jess, their sandwiches are to die for. Well yeah idiot, you give them your money they give it to people who want you dead use your head.
I will never eat at that hate hearted place. Never.
I have not had any of their food in about ten years. Unlike most I do not hate them, I pity those who must maintain such a pious life style in order to work at a fast food restaurant.
