Trump’s Twin Boris Had A Row With His Girlfriend But Does It Matter?
Everywhere we look there’s lots of crazy. The United States elected an idiot in Donald Trump, and Britain is about to elect his “twin” in the nutty Boris Johnson.
If you’ve lost track of Britain’s turbulent politics, the short version is this: Either Boris Johnson or Jeremy Hunt will replace Theresa May as prime minister when the votes are counted next month. Johnson is the heavy favorite to win, though a domestic incident involving his girlfriend continues to make headlines in the UK since it surfaced Friday.
Now Hunt has made it part of the race by challenging Johnson to answer questions about what happened in the early hours of Friday, reports the BBC. A candidate for prime minister “should answer questions on everything,” said Hunt. He ramped up the pressure in the Times of London, writing: “Don’t be a coward Boris. Man up and show the nation you can cope with the intense scrutiny the most difficult job in the country will involve.”
So what did happen? Neighbors called police after overhearing what sounded like a loud, violent argument between Johnson and his girlfriend, Carrie Symonds, at her South London apartment. One neighbor recorded it and shared it with the Guardian, and the newspaper reports that Symonds can be heard saying, “Get off me” and “Get out of my flat,” and Johnson refusing to leave amid much shouting and what sounds like plates and other objects being smashed.
Police arrived but left after talking to both, and no charges were filed. Johnson has refused to answer direct questions about the incident, saying instead, “People are entitled to ask about me and my determination, my character, and what I want to do for the country.” At the New Yorker, Rebecca Mead lays out why the incident probably won’t hurt Johnson’s chances, and that sounds familiar to us Yanks.

Ah! I get it Jess. Nice one! 😘
Plus they told The Guardian newspaper. Even worse than The Mail…. If that’s possible
Shirley / Jess : You were there in their flat? Wow! How’d you manage that?
Look. We don’t know what happened. That’s a fact.
You don’t condemn, without proof, just because it’s a man – regardless of who the man is.
I had a row with my wife once. I touched her shoulder to say ‘sorry’ cause I was wrong and she said “Get off me!” cause she had the hump.
What worries me is that they have a freaky neighbour who listens through the wall and records them!
Now that is the only clear wrong doing here
No, what I am saying that women should not have to hear it be said all the damn time what if it were your wife your daughter etc. Never is it said at any time when a guy is attacked in any way, well it was someone’s son, husband father etc where when a woman is attacked it is always but always someone wife someone’s daughter someone’s mom. We are people by our own right, we are not just someone’s mom, daughter wife etc. This may not be coming across the way I want it to. It is like when I got married and walked the aisle by myself for two reasons. One my dad was not here to do it and two the biggest reason, I would not have him do it anyway because I did not want it to look like I was a piece of property being given by one man to another man and you guys know, I worshipped the ground my dad walked on. Instead I had my aunts, my best friend, his sisters and his parents** walk me down halfway and I walked the rest by myself because I am my own woman not just someone’s daughter. wife, mom etc.
**All the people that mean the world to me
Jess you precisely right. While it’s better than it once was, women continue to be humiliated by men like Trump and Boris while their supporters like Mr Bamforth continue to laugh.
I get so tired of having to try and explain myself really I do.
Jess : Possible abuser? They had a tiff! She’ll be his third wife, I believe, if they marry. He isn’t an abuser, he’s a posh boy who can’t keep it in his trousers.
I hate em all. I’d just prefer one who makes me laugh.
She shouted at him get off me. That says to me he was somewhere on her. Why is it when women say these things they are not believed. Tell me and let me use your daughter or wife as the example, even though I should not have to because any woman should do as the example. If someone was “on” your daughter or wife and they were screaming for them to get off what would that say to you, they were playing a friendly game of Uno or someone was laying hands on them in a possibly threatening way?
So a possible abuser of women like we have would be okay it seems like. What choice.
The PM’s job is for Boris to lose….and given his sometimes erratic behavior, he just might.
The problem is, Hunt is just as bad. He might come across as a ‘serious politician’, and indeed he is. Unfortunately, as Health Secretary, he actively tried to portray junior doctors as ‘the enemy’.
Hunt is a scumbag, Boris a clown.
I’d rather have a clown. That way we’ll still get screwed, but might not notice so much as we’ll be so busy laughing.
You make a good point.
