Constable Alan Rosen, following Saturday morning’s raid on alleged animal abusers in Harris County, Texas said:

“They’re the kind of people that we start watching for that may transition away from animals to humans.”

Approximately four dozen officers fanned out across the area, making 13 arrests as part of Operation “Don’t Be Cruel.” Some of the cases were extreme, said Rosen in a police conference on the raids.

Rosen said more than 230 animals were found “living in deplorable conditions” in Edmond Megdal’s home, with creatures ranging from birds to bearded dragons to turtles in the home with no water.

Authorities who had been working with Megdal since March in an attempt to better his animals’ care, knew about these conditions. That didn’t happen, and he was arrested, as was Tony Carodine, 25, who was filmed throwing a dog with great force and punching it in the face; a vet found fractures in two of the dog’s legs.

Those charged with the Class A misdemeanor of animal cruelty can face up to a year in jail and a fine of $4,000 if convicted.

Ugh, people are so fucking horrible. Seriously who thinks it is okay to hurt an innocent animal like that, hell even a wild animal does not deserve that.

Probably most any Trump supporter.

Just put them in cages without food and water. There are lots of cages in Texas.

Harris County is Houston, hot and steamy, even by Florida standards. There was a TV show about 15 years go called Animal Cops: Houston and apparently the sort of thing we were shown still goes on. Horses, dogs and cats are too often neglected by the marginal people who own them, who can’t afford veterinary care or food. It’s heartbreaking. The people from the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (HSPCA) are dedicated and hard working but are underfunded and understaffed. They’re funded by donations. I’m sure there are similar groups wherever you live and they deserve your help.

20 years plus in jail would be nearer the mark.

Sub-human scum.
