Sociopaths Like Trump Exist to Destroy

Read Time:2 Minute, 30 Second

by David P. Greenberg

Do you think Biden is tough enough to beat Trump? Maybe we’ll win because we have a moderate as a candidate? Or Harris? Or Pelosi? None of them can beat Trump because none of them know what they’re fighting.

There is nothing in your world that ever prepared you for Trump. Your quiet little, oversimplified world, where people are motivated by normalcy.

Several years ago – for this venerable Web-mag – I wrote a piece in which I admitted to having known several genuine sociopaths. Here’s the thing: if a single one of these individuals reappeared in my life, today, I’d pack up my family and move. I’m afraid of nothing, but even I am afraid of sociopaths.

The mindfuck is their weapon of choice. They’re world class manipulators and liars. And they can make you believe that you’re doing what you want to do, while they have you – enslaved – doing their bidding. Their sole motivation is winning. They don’t even care what they win at, as long as they win and someone else loses. They are cruel simply for the joy of it, and cruelty is their only joy.

Biden will want to disprove. Trump will want to humiliate.

Biden’s never been there before. Harris has never been there before. You the reader, have most likely never been there before.

We do things that at least appear to make sense to us at the time. Sure, we all make mistakes – and sometimes people get hurt in those mistakes. But our motivations make sense to us, at least at the time. Sociopaths have no motivation you can understand. Sure, Trump is motivated by profit, power, and public adoration. But, that’s just the part you see. Underneath the orange spray paint beats no heart at all. He is the human equivalent of a shark. Constantly driven forward, constantly eating, gaining nothing and giving back even less. He exists to destroy.

The hardest thing to wrap your head around when fighting sociopaths is just that. Understanding that chaos for its own sake is their only goal.

A lot of armchair shrinks are reading this, and handing in their own diagnoses. Malignant Narcissist. Type Two Antisocial Personality Disorder. Psychopathy. Dementia. The term I use, Sociopath, is perhaps a bit dated, perhaps a bit too classical. But whatever label you like, you need to familiarize yourself with the symptomology. And you need to realize that by just being there, you’ve already brought a knife to a gunfight.

Just as the legal system failed with Trump – and has for decades – so too, will the political system. He’s playing by a completely different set of rules. In his rulebook, he’s the victim when he needs to be, the victimizer when it looks good, and always the victor. Your every truth is a lie, his every lie is the truth. Trump won’t chew Biden, Harris, or Buttigieg up and spit them out, for reelection. He’ll do it for pleasure. The reelection is incidental.

He has no other choice than to be re elected. If he does not he’s facing years in jail for his crimes. I don’t care who it is I am going to bust hump to help get them elected. Except that Williamson woman, she’s a moron. Possibly Tulsi Gabbard because her policies are republican lite and she is a favorite of the goopers. So two of them I would not vote for in a general election.

I would be hard-pressed to vote for Gillibrand, Booker, Gabbard or Williamson. Regardless, I would swallow hard, and hold my nose if any should become the candidate, which they won’t. We have to beat Trump. That’s the goal, and there should be none other. I love me some Kamala Harris, but doubt she will be nominated. I expect it will be Biden.

Same here Mike. Booker is all about Booker if you go back and look at his history. I would love it to be Harris but damn we have got to keep some of these people in the senate so they can do good work there.

I don’t buy into that “keep the good people in the senate” thing, Jess. As long as the seat is held by a Dem we’re OK. I’d love to see Kamala in the Oval Office.
