One Lie After Another—Donald Trump’s Collapsing Kingdom

And Trump says he didn’t know them. (CNN)

When asked about Lev Parnas, who spoke freely about Trump’s criminality on the Rachel Maddow Show, the president said he didn’t “know the man.”

Admittedly, Parnas is under indictment and may be seeking to reduce his sentence, but that does not mitigate the usefulness or truthfulness of his answers. Worse? We also know that he is and was Giuliani’s associate and Giuliani on his own letter-head introduces himself to the new incoming President of Ukraine.

In that particular letter of “introduction” Giuliani specifically tells the incoming Administration in Ukraine that he represents Trump. Specifically, he states the following on his own letterhead:

“I am private counsel to President Donald J. Trump. Just to be precise, I represent him as a private citizen, not as President of the United States. This is quite common under American law because the duties and privileges of a President and a private citizen are not the same. Separate representation is a usual process.”

Really, Rudy? This is what really is called plausible deniability. To be clear: plausible deniability exists to ensure the person involved in some questionable activity has a way to get out of saying he or she really knew what was going on.

So, we all ought should not be surprised to hear Trump deny that he knew anything about this letter, right? But there is a problem with this rationale: Why the explanation to the incoming Ukraine administration if this was “usual.” Certainly, the Ukranian President would be counseled by his own staff regarding what was and was not normal. And this is precisely where Giuliani and Trump’s apparent ignorance comes into play.

Nearing the end of the letter Giuliani requests the well documented “meeting” which was sought in order to prompt the Ukranian President to announce an investigation would be launched into Burisma, the former Vice-President, and his son, Hunter.

From the letter:

“However, I have a more specific request. In my capacity as personal counsel to PRESIDENT TRUMP and WITH HIS KNOWLEDGE AND CONSENT, I request a meeting with you on this upcoming Monday, May 13th, or Tuesday, May 14th.” (All emphasis mine).

So who will be joining Rudy on his trip? None other than Fox News special guest and American attorney, Victoria Toensing, wife of Joseph diGenova. This couple has booked plenty of hours on Fox News espousing the unsubstantiated claim that there was something “corrupt” about the manner in which our former Vice-President dealt with Ukraine and Burisma. In other words, propaganda.

The tale would not be complete without alerting you the reader of the following:

Victoria Toensing is a conservative lawyer, Republican party operative and partner with her husband, Joseph diGenova. The couple reportedly has worked with RUDY GIULIANI and UKRANIAN INTERESTS in support of President Donald Trump. (Emphasis mine).

Did you catch that? Well, did you? The Republican party can yell, scream and shout all darned day long about allowing this testimony into the Senate trial – and to be honest if I were a Republican who wanted to hang onto my seat without losing grace with the man who bribed me I would most likely be doing the same – but Giuliani’s letter is what is so indicting.

So, they can yell that Parnas is a crook all damned day, but in the end, they will need to admit that Giuliani is one too. Furthermore, Trump cannot invoke executive privilege on this testimony because of the idiotic way Giuliani went about this. By saying he was not representing the President, all bets are off.

How many of you believe the GOP will demand testimony from Giuliani? How about Parnas? In light of my recent article, I would say the chances are about nill. In further light of my sources up in Washington, what we all will see is Trump’s “legal” team argue how unconstitutional this impeachment is, and they will refuse to cooperate, meaning it is time for Republicans to make clear who they represent: Their political careers, or our Constitution which they each upheld and swore an oath to protect and defend.

Let’s face facts, folks! The man occupying our Oval Office is corrupt. Had Barack Obama executed just one of these hit jobs, the Republicans would have impeached and lynched him at the National Mall the same day at high noon.

What the GOP had better ask themselves is this: Sooner or later, the Democrats ARE going to win back the White House. And how are they going to argue should that president engage in the same behavior? You know what I will tell them: Tough s*it. You allowed it with Trump establishing precedent. Now you get to taste precisely how it feels to us who do not support Trump’s policies. You don’t like it—move to Liberia.

Personally I agree with you Mark, the corruption demonstrated by this administration is un-heard of. The self-serving wiggling a squirming of the Rethuglian Senate about to be witnessed will be momentous. If our nation is fortunate enough to survive this period, as we ourselves did with tales of prohibition era lawlessness, our great grandchildren will marvel at the sliminess of this period.

But it does look like you stirred up a couple of tRumlodytes.

Gee Mike, I guess I didn’t realize your little blog had such wide readership and authority. Gloryhole? I’m impressed!

Liberia?? LOL

Excellent article Mark Bear. Thank you for laying out the facts, but mainly for showing excerpts from Giuliani’s letter. We all know tRump lies, all the time, every day. It is helpful to be able to show others what truly happened.
A question I have; what is history going to show about these Republicans who defend him, who lie to prove his case and make a mockery of our government? Don’t they know their names will be forever smeared for being involved in this corrupt administration? History will not lie.
And what will history show of the Americans who continued to back and believe tRump? This will surely be seen as a very dark time in our government.
I am proud to have vocally opposed tRump since the campaign. Mark Bear you have provided facts to assist me in opposing him. My history will show that I fought hard against tRump. As will your history.

Stormy Daniels, Avanetti, Cohen, Comey, Mueller, now Parnas is the media great hope.
Baghdad Bob had more credibility. with any luck, the propagandist article will get syndicated and published in the Onion. actually it most likely wouldn’t even meet their editorial standards.
Trump Derangement Syndrome is apparently likely the cause of this opinion blogger, the good news it’s treatable and considered a pre-existing condition.

Walked Away,

I laid out facts! Apparently, you cannot handle the truth. I used Giuliani’s own words. So please: Go on ahead and use ad hominem attacks to address the corrupt President. It matters little to me. But one last thing: I cannot help but notice that you do not use YOUR OWN NAME! So, why not be a big boy and USE YOUR REAL NAME! Otherwise, I am just going to refer to use as the “keyboard warrior who lives in Mommy’s house eating cereal.” Now call Mommy to fill your Fruit Loops, Spanky! Good day!
