Bernie Isn’t Dropping Out Anytime Soon Because It’s All About Bernie

by Michael John Scott

Bernie isn’t going to do well in Tuesday’s election.  Former Vice-President Joe Biden has clearly demonstrated his ability to just make people feel better.  His calm, reassuring demeanor is what Americans want during this time of crisis.  The last things they need are the lies of Donald Trump and his self-serving babbling.  They also don’t need to hear about Bernie’s ‘revolution,’  when they’re wondering if they have enough toilet paper, or worrying about getting sick.

Regardless, and shades of 2016, Sanders’ aides tell us Bernie isn’t dropping out anytime soon, and may even stay in right up until the nomination, even though he knows he isn’t the one being nominated.  Like Trump, Bernie is self-centered and narcissistic; he doesn’t care that Joe Biden needs to run against Trump, not him.  The coronavirus is slowing everything down, including government, and voting, so time is of the essence, but again Bernie doesn’t care.  All Bernie wants is his “revolution.”

Florida, Illinois, and Arizona go to polls today, but the emergency measures surrounding the coronavirus outbreak have made Ohio officials cancel their primary. According to Politico, Sanders has signaled to his aides that he will not quit the race if the votes don’t go his way. It’s all about Bernie after all. He reportedly has staff in place for states that vote as late as April 28, including the delegate-rich New York which his team remains optimistic about. “I think he’s in. Who is going to advise him to drop out?”

Larry Cohen, chair of Bernie’s “Our Revolution” says

“I think there’s a very good chance that he will stay in. The number of delegates you have, the number of people on the platform committee is absolutely critical.”

Sanders’ gang still sees worth in gaining as many delegates as possible to help them influence the party platform at the Democratic National Convention this summer, even if he doesn‘t win the nomination, because, after all, it’s all about Bernie.

Mike why would anyone expect him to drop out? He’s not going to until the Dems force him out by nominating Biden. He’s a nasty, selfish old man, and it shows. Fuck him.

SO Bernie is losing his ass tonight, and turnout, instead of being low because of coronavirus, it’s higher than it was in 2016, so people are eager. Bet $20 he won’t quit though.

I want him to stay in because I want some of his ideas to become part of the Democratic platform. There was a time when the Democratic Party was about social change. They lost their way in the 80’s, and they need to find their way back to being the party that brought about the Civil Rights movement and the Voting Rights Act. Personally, I’d like to see some headway made on health care, equally pay for women and other minorities, and forcing states to return funding to higher education so students are bankrupted just getting a bachelor’s degree. If Bernie doesn’t stay in, those ideas will never become part of the platform. While voters may be going for Biden, in many cases, it’s a matter of who they think can beat Trump. Polls shows that many Democrats really do want some of Bernie’s ideas to be implemented.
