A.G. Barr Will Take Legal Action Against Governors Who Enforce Restrictions

Read Time:1 Minute, 37 Second

by Michael John Scott

Apparently, when Trump told the governors at one of his tedious daily briefings that the responsibility to open their states rested with them he didn’t really mean it.

Now, Attorney General William Barr, a Trump toady, warned on Tuesday that the Justice Department could take legal action against governors who continue to enforce restrictions in their states to combat the coronavirus if they “impinge on either civil rights or on national commerce.”

What? Legal action?  Is he saying he would arrest governors for not opening their states at the direction of King Donald? Well, perhaps not…yet.

In an interview on The Hugh Hewitt Show, Barr said,

“We have to give businesses more freedom to operate in a way that’s reasonably safe.”

Barr’s disturbing comments come amid conservative protests against shelter-in-place orders in several states, which were further emboldened by the twisted Trump’s tweets urging citizens in Minnesota, Michigan, and Virginia to demand officials “liberate” their states, inciting protests in these and other states.

Barr said the Justice Department wouldn’t hesitate to support lawsuits filed by citizens or businesses in response to certain state directives.

“We’re looking carefully at a number of these rules that are being put into place.  And if we think one goes too far, we initially try to jawbone the governors into rolling them back or adjusting them. And if they’re not and people bring lawsuits, we file statements of interest and side with the plaintiffs.”

Barr, Trump’s number one puppet, called prevailing shelter-in-place orders across the country “very, very burdensome impingements on liberty,” adding, “We didn’t adopt them as the comprehensive way of dealing with this disease.”  We didn’t adopt them?  What?  What world are we in?  Is this a dream?

No, lets have Trump come done from his stage with Jared, Melania, Ivanka, Eric, and don, Jr. and mingle with the crow, Hug them all, handshakes all around. You will not see that because he is willing to risk antone’s life but his own.

Trump just wants to resume rallies, which I strongly support, along with handshakes, hugs and even kisses. As he says “give it a try. What do you have to lose?”

“What do you have to lose?” Every time he says that it gives me a shiver. How about losing your life. I tell my classes to listen to the health experts and to NEVER listen to Trump because he’s an idiot.

So, like other parts of the tenth amendment was just thrown on there for the hell of it. As I said before, maybe this is is a way to thin the herd of Trump idiots. I am not crazy about this stuck at home practice either but the safety of the people should come first. This mistake may be like Singapore’s. Covid will come right back except with a vengeance.
If Trump wants to roll the dice I think he should roll it first with his own family.

Good points. It’s not about Trump, but no one can tell him that because he’s such a narcissistic bully.
