Trump Is Losing His War Against the Unseen Enemy

Read Time:4 Minute, 6 Second

by Mark Bear

I want to give you a number; not just any number, but a highly important number, okay?

16,690

Sixteen thousand six hundred and ninety.

Go ahead. Read THAT again!

Why? Glad you asked. Because THIS is how many people have died at the hands of the absolute worst leader this nation has ever witnessed. PERIOD! If you disagree about him being the worst, I suggest you pick up a history book and cease listening to the propaganda spewed by the conservative media entertainment complex. After all, the two – Trump and conservative media – are a simple feedback loop

This amounts to more lives lost than 9/11 and Pearl Harbor. The difference? This could have been prevented. In fact, the so-called Commander-In-Chief, who is calling this a “War on an Unseen Enemy” is failing miserably, and furthermore, is NOT using the entire breath, scope or power of our Federal Government to assist in fighting this “unseen enemy.” As a direct result of this man’s inaction, casualties in his “war” are mounting!

Instead, he wants “states to determine their own path,” this, whilst making the authors of The Federalist Papers; Alexander Hamilton’s, James Madison’s and John Jay’s, dead bodies rotate in their respective graves.

To clarify: That death toll is as of this moment. Right now. We have yet to see the end result of this pandemic or “war” as Trump likes to refer to the matter.  Worse? According to the New York Times, there have been many deaths that have occurred related to this virus, which has not been reported. Case in point: In New York City, the New York Guard has been dispatched to work in tandem with the medical examiner’s office to pick up dead bodies from their homes. As The Washington Post points out: these are undoubtedly related to the COVID19 crisis. The Guard has been picking up – according to the Post – approximately 125-150 bodies from homes with other sources noting the huge increase in calls.

Why? The funeral homes are so overwhelmed that they cannot keep up. Worse? They actually had to take the remains of people and conduct a mass burial at Hart Island.

Similarly, I will give each of you another number:

10,600.

Ten thousand six hundred.

Go ahead! Read that again! Why?

Because THAT is how many lives have been lost in the past seven days. Yes! You read that correctly! Seven days.

Meanwhile, we have people from conservative persuasion wanting us to “focus and remember” those who have survived.
Question: When 9/11 occurred, did ANY American demand that the populace focus on the estimated 14,000 to 19,000 people who survived the attacks? Nope! In fact, as I searched to source how many people were estimated to being in the Twin Towers, the only source I can find is Wikipedia. All others mourn the loss of life. In fact, we erected a memorial to honor those people, didn’t we? Sure did!

So why now? Why the demand to “focus” upon those who have “recovered,” and never mind how many open cases there currently are. I’ll answer: These conservatives will DO just about anything to protect their guy, their ‘Dear Leader‘ who has been supposedly “sent by God.”

Remember: A case remains open as long as it takes, with most health professionals estimating 14 days from diagnosis to either death or resolution and recovery.

And all roads lead back to the poor performance and leadership of Donald J. Trump who has been derelict in his duties as a Commander-In-Chief. Question: Whom – may I ask – as a General, or Commander sends in one-half of his resources to do battle with such a vicious  “unseen enemy” versus using the entirety of his assets to fight such an enemy? Unless that is, that Commander, General, or Lt. is more concerned about himself than he is concerned about those whose lives have been lost.

My suggestion to Trump? Just lose the “war” verbiage, because when you are fighting the “enemy” as you so fondly refer to it, perhaps you should consider untying the one arm which is tied behind your back and focus on the mission versus yourself.

Perhaps that National Day of Prayer Trump and Franklin Graham keep calling for can actually be FOUR HOURS OF SILENCE IN MEMORY OF THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES. Why four hours? Because 4.6 hours contains 16,690 seconds. Aren’t our dead worth at least one second of our time?

Since conservatives claim the higher moral ground due to their being pro-life, how about showing respect for those who through no fault of their own lost their lives due to a madman who decided to marginalize his “war,” from the outset?

Thank you for this, my brother and friend…

Yet, as usual, those who most need to read these words never will, as their beloved narrative matters more than stark reality.

Much love, support, and admiration from me, your unofficial Jewish cheering session…

Trump’s enemy is our enemy. Fortunately, he has more enemies than most, and those are his alone.
