Trump Doesn’t Need An Election Boost in Oklahoma, So Why Tulsa?

Read Time:1 Minute, 47 Second

by Laura Clawson

Donald Trump is heading to Tulsa on Saturday for his first campaign rally in months, and not everyone in the city is happy to hear it. The editorial board of the local newspaper, for instance, says “This is the wrong time” and “the wrong place” for Trump to rally.

“We don’t know why he chose Tulsa, but we can’t see any way that his visit will be good for the city,” a Tulsa World editorial says, citing the pandemic, the protests following the police killing of George Floyd, and the big question mark around the choice of Tulsa to begin with.

When it comes to the pandemic, the editorial points out, “It will be our health care system that will have to deal with whatever effects follow.” That’s not just about Trump: “The public health concern would apply whether it was Donald Trump, Joe Biden or anyone else who was planning a mass rally at the BOK.”

With protests against police brutality and racism still happening around the country, and with Trump being “a divisive figure” (no kidding on that), the editorial writers worry about “confrontation and inappropriate behavior from some,” with Tulsa stuck with the burden of handling the fallout. Not noted in the editorial, Trump rallies have left a lot of cities with big unpaid bills for the security they had to provide.

And why Tulsa, for that matter?

“There’s no reason to think a Trump appearance in Tulsa will have any effect on November’s election outcome in Tulsa or Oklahoma,” the editorial points out—Trump won Oklahoma by more than 35 points in 2016, after all—and “It has already concentrated the world’s attention of the fact that Trump will be rallying in a city that 99 years ago was the site of a bloody race massacre.”

(But hey, at least he changed the rally’s date from Juneteenth, the day celebrating the end of slavery!)

Well, he needs to come to Alabama. Our Covid 19 is rising like crazy These idiots here are still saying that the virus is fake news. That it isn’t really happening and the Democrats are just making it up.

No one has mentioned that he required e veryone who was attending to sign waivers saying they would not sue him if they caught Covid 19 while at the rally. I think he should have had to mingle around in the crowd to prove he was not afraid of the virus.

I’m taking bets on whether or not he gets a full house. I’ll bet he will, with lines outside. It’s Tulsa after all.

According to him he was asked for 200k tickets for a venue that only holds around 15-20k or so, it will be standing room only afterwards like his inauguration if he has anything to do with it. PERIOD 😉

Uh DUH, because Tulsa had one of the most horrible of horrid racist shit go down back in the day if anyone can remember. He knew EXACTLY what he was doing choosing Tulsa and the day he chose it. This way he can go back and say see, they won’t even let us hold our Nuremberg type rallies the days we want and the places we want because of blacky mcblackerton and all the rest of them colored folks (J’s new band name) wanting speshul rats or some such shit. You all know I am right. It was all over Watchmen on HBO and even me who has a firm grasp on history, went on a wormhole ninja google thing to see what it was all about got schooled. Go look it up it’s interesting and angering all at the same time.

You know me, huge comic/graphic novel nerd. Watchmen, all versions of it, interested me. they won’t be doing season 2 from all I understand. The 1st episode showed the Tulsa stuff, how it used to be a go to city for all types of business for blacks and in a few days it was gone. It was really eye opening for me, the research I did after that episode because I did not know half of what I saw.

I was just thinking that in hundreds of cities around the country many more people came out in each one than showed up for his inauguration. If only all the holy hipsters beating on drums and playing Woodstock would have just voted, we wouldn’t have had this horror story. But no, she had friend on wall street and we hate Capitalism.

The rally is held in Tulsa because he needs a morality and vanity boost. He (his campaign team) doesn’t expect large crowds of anti trumpers of any significance. He needs to bake in a cheering of thousands of deliriously enthusiastic followers with sweaty faces, big bellies and ugly outfits topped with red MAGA hats. That’s why he is going there.

Mike what the hell kind of man invites thousands of people, during a pandemic, to come listen to him lie? Trump! That’s the kind of man would do this.

It’s because he’s the kind of man who wants adoration and if there’s any place he can get it it is Tulsa. Ever been to Tulsa? A shithole city by all descriptions. See what I did there?
