An Englishman Wants To Know Who Are the Real Racists?

EU declares black lives matter; condemns racism

by Neil Bamforth

The organisation, Black Lives Matter, is often dismissed by those who do not support them, as Marxists. Indeed, they appear quite happy to propagate this image to some extent. Increasingly, however, it is beginning to appear that, rather than Marxist, they are, in fact, racists.

Their increasingly vile ‘anti-white’ rhetoric makes it difficult to come to any other conclusion.

Those claiming to be leaders, whether locally or more nationally, have been ramping up the anti-white rhetoric as time has gone on.

This makes it all the more bizarre that some white people, who would claim to be liberal, are still supporting them. Perhaps not quite as bizarre that white people of a more ‘hard left’ persuasion still do as, like many on the further extremes of politics, they often refuse to see or hear anything that opposes their own agenda.

In the UK, it isn’t, yet, anything like as bad as it is in the USA.

In the city of Bristol, BLM and Antifa pulled down a statue of someone involved in the slave trade and then, a couple of days ago, replaced it on the plinth with a statue of a local black Bristol woman making the ‘Black Power’ salute.

It was removed today and put where it belongs – in a rubbish skip. It may be returned to the artist who sculpted it, but, rightly, it is no longer on display.

For the short time, it was in situ, it was both hilarious and sad, in equal measure, to see primarily young white people surrounding it and ‘taking the knee’ as the current posture politics has some doing.

For as long as I can remember, the term ‘racist’, or the act of ‘racism’, was only ever used when a white person, or white people, said or did something offensive, or worse, to a person of color primarily. Although, particularly over the last couple of decades or so, people from certain countries in the European Union have fallen victim to racists.

The very idea that ‘racism’ occurred elsewhere than in predominantly white societies was scoffed at. Not just by the liberals or the left either. Most people tended to think it was entirely a ‘white’ issue.

Not any more.

A friend of mine in Leicester was driving along with his family when two black men stepped out, causing him to brake. They approached the car and he, sensibly, hit the internal locks. One tried to open the passenger door, where his wife sat, while the other stood in front of the car. The road was otherwise empty and it was quite late at night.

Thankfully, he kept his wits about him, ‘hit the gas’ and, knocking the man who stood in front of the car over, drove away at high speed.

Although he reported the incident to the police, he has, to date, not heard anything back from them. He has absolutely no idea whether the chap he hit was injured in any way. To be fair, there’s no evidence that this incident had anything to do with BLM.

These are, fortunately, very rare occurrences in the UK but seem to be happening with alarming frequency in the USA.

People pulled from cars and beaten. In many cases those pulled from cars are white and those doing the beating are black, but to be fair not in all cases.

Black Lives Matter may claim to hold some Marxist values, but, as far as I know, Marx wasn’t into beating people up because they happened to be white – or any other color come to that.

Whilst BLM may not be directly responsible for some of these actions, they are certainly not showing any concern about them occurring. Their anti-white rhetoric is almost certainly encouraging such behavior.

The evidence is mounting to the point where it can no longer be ignored.

Black Lives Matter appears to be more and more openly racist in the UK.

This is not going to end well.

Right wing agenda? Seriously, that’s the cheapest, most nearly content-free ad hominem argument available. Racism doesn’t have wings although it may have degrees. Racism is not a vector. It’s racism no matter which way it points. That even chimps exhibit prejudice against other bands of chimps suggests that yes, it is part of our nature, whether or not it serves any evolutionary purpose. But my particular problem with people who confuse BLM with the cause of justice for people of color is largely semantic. No one who has struggled, whose family has struggled hopelessly for generations wants to hear they’re “privileged” because of their race. Terminology matters. Terminology wins and loses arguments.

If you don’t think that sounds racist and still want to hold on to the jargon because you can’t admit it was a bad choice, you’re advocating race vengeance not equality and you’re being as narcissistic as Trump. Advocating retribution, attacking someone’s rights because of his race? Of course that’s racist. Like the nebulous Antifa, perhaps we’re lumping unrelated people together under the rubric of BLM, but if there’s a community insisting the term all excludes the subset black rather than includes it – if you think that general principle diminishes a specific subset, you’re just stupid so why would I listen to you? The constantly repeated refrain is that he who finds all men equal must ipso facto find some men inferior is idiotic and self-contradictory.

Fact is there’s been a sudden spike in violent crime and I think it’s the result of all the self-righteous hate speech from all involved. Will all the rage addicts and anger mongers please STFU?

Good point Glenn. There is a large difference between prejudice, which we all have to some degree, but of which we are aware, and therefore can control and racism which guides our thoughts and actions toward those of a different race or ethnic group. As you point out even chimps show prejudice and racism toward other groups of primates, us included. If one takes the time to look around there are prejudices and subcultural differences between members of the same race. Take, for example, those people who seem to worship Donald Trump. I really think those folks do not have walking around sense, but it is their right to be stupid just as it is my right not to associate with them. But, I do not have the right to harm them in any way because of their different political views.

I think it’s you N/N who tries to spin the facts to suit your right wing agenda. I didn’t hear or read anything about the incident you described in your story by the way. Also the statue was not put in a skip (why would you find that amusing ? but care about a statue of a slave trader who caused thousands of deaths?)
I’ve never heard of a referendum on removing the statue of Colston so question where you got your information from?

Jess : So he allows himself and his family to be dragged from the car and beaten up? Really? I’d do exactly what my friend did.

Cherries / Mike : The statue was removed by a crane into a skip lorry – which was amusing.

Yes. Some in Bristol had campaigned for the Colston statue to be removed. A referendum on the matter found the majority in favor of it remaining.

Again, Cherries, you twist the facts to suit your narrative….conveniently avoiding the crux of the matter that BLM are racist.

FFS. he ran a guy over and nothing happened to him regarding that. THAT is some fucked up nonsense no matter where you live right there. Keeryst awmighty I wish people would stop with the whole blame things on antifa like they know what they are talking bout. There is no such group anywhere, other than in the fevered minds of the fright wing when it comes to antifa. It is a collective of groups that are all against fascism in all its forms not one particular group that goes around being all moody, listening to emo music smoking clove ciggies, smelling like patchouli oil. Hope this helps.

I expected another racist rant from you there N/N, but with the usual factual errors, it’s fairly straightforward if one ignores the hidden messages. I actually find myself agreeing with you on some points.

Here he goes again NN is getting even more right wing it seems to be all he thinks about. 😤
The Mayor of Bristol ( a black/mixed race man) had the statue removed (not put in the rubbish) as it hadn’t got permission, also it wasn’t meant to be permanent anyway. No doubt too to avoid all the far right mob pulling it down and causing trouble. It was, by the way if you didn’t see it, a brilliant statue. Also the people of Bristol have been campaigning for years to have the slave trader Colston to be removed. It was retrieved and put in a museum so that’s ok people can look at it and read the history.

While the issues of political corruption, Covid 19, as well as those related to racism are swirling around us on a daily basis it is difficult to know on which we should be more concerned. Personally, there is not one of those that I can correct except by my own behavior. I can write about the unfairness of our current political process and the corruption going on at all levels of government here at MMA and letters to editors but I rather doubt that it will change anyone’s mind. It may make me feel better but that is all. Covid 19 is what it is, a raging pandemic that is truly kicking ass around the world, and especially here in the U.S. I can wear my mask and stay at home as much as possible and hope I don’t catch it. Racism has been with us for longer than we have been a country. Likely it was with our ancestors long before they came to this land. So the only thing I can do is live my life as I see it. There are people of all races and ethnicities that ExceptI like and dislike. It all depends on how they behave around and toward me. There are cops that I can’t stand and cops with which I am close friends. Except when writing or speaking in generalities I try not to put all people in any given group in a single stereotype because it is unfair to the individual. I know that there are good people in most groups and bad people in most groups. So I just try to not allow myself to be drawn into stereotyping individuals that belong to a particular group.

It’s true what you say, Bill. I tell my classes something similar, particularly when it comes to racism. Yes. It has been with us almost as long as man has been walking the earth, and will be with us when we are visiting the stars. As we discover new forms of life, prejudices will develop, I mean who likes a Klingon, and those Andorians! Whew.

Mike that was funny as fuck. Personally speaking, I’m no fan of those crude Klingons. Always wanting to fight and they spit when they talk.

It’s a difficult question. My first exposure to BLM was during the Michael Brown protest. Despite the overwhelming evidence supporting the officer, who was attacked by Brown, the City of Ferguson was once again burned down by BLM protesters and others. My second exposure to BLM was footage of a BLM march down the middle of an interstate, where preachers, and hundreds, at least, BLM protesters were chanting: “Pigs in a blanket, fry ’em like bacon.” When mentioned today, however, CNN and MSNBC denied this actually happened. I saw this incident on both channels and it did happen. It’s safe to say I’m no fan of BLM. If they were as dedicated to addressing all the black on black crime in our inner cities, I would be more supportive, but their sole mission seems to be attacking the police. Naturally, in today’s climate, my failure to support BLM can be construed as racist. Oh well, I’m certainly not, but who will believe me?
