Navy Seal K-9’s Attack Politically Incorrect Target During Demo

In addition to US service members, military dogs are sent onto battlefields to help defeat foes, and a demonstration last year at a Florida nonprofit was meant to show how that’s done. But a video has now emerged of that demo in Fort Pierce at the National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum, with the so-called target used to draw the K9 attackers attracting both controversy and an investigation by the Naval Special Warfare Command, the Washington Post reports.
As seen in the first clip now circulating on social media, four dogs leap one by one onto a man called “Josh” by the announcer, clamping down on his padded arms and doing their job at subduing him. What’s spurring the backlash, however, is what else Josh is wearing: a red Colin Kaepernick jersey.
In a second video, Josh is seen taken down by a dog and mock-moaning, “Oh man, I will stand,” which brings laughter from the crowd, per Yahoo Sports. It’s not yet clear who recorded the video of the demo, which was originally posted on Instagram in January 2019 in now-deleted posts, with one caption noting the Kaepernick stand-in was set upon by the dogs for “not standing during the national anthem.”
BuzzFeed News notes the videos went viral after filmmaker Billy Corben shared them. “The inherent message of this video is completely inconsistent with the values and ethos of Naval Special Warfare and the US Navy,” the Navy said in a statement, noting it so far doesn’t appear any active Navy personnel were involved in the event, or that any Navy equipment was used during the demo. The museum is not managed by the Navy.
Will anyone get fired for committing such an outrageous offense? Will the dogs be punished for attacking a ‘national icon?’ In this political climate, no one really knows.

Fort Pierce is a short drive north and I’m frequently there – at least I was before Trump’s Disease. The museum is worth the trip, but it’s hard to convey the Trumpstink in these parts. The idea that anyone could oppose the Great White Hope is more than many of these people can deal with and with sports in abeyance, mocking the bogeymen is the pastime. Fake stories about Hillary, Pelosi, Schumer and Kaepernick, of course. The only change in this American culture is that it’s worse than it was during Vietnam and so many of us are trained to attack on command we might as well be animals.
British armed forces certainly haven’t, and won’t, ‘take the knee’. The top brass were asked weeks ago whether it could happen. Their response was to issue the command to never do it.

Has this bullshit gone too far? You bet your sweet ass it has. There was a time, not too long ago, when military people stay away from politics. Sure, everyone had the right to vote as they chose but no one dared align themselves with a candidate openly, and with good reason. Military personnel were sworn to protect the nation, all of it. Besides, most career military people knew that no one party ruled the country. The democrats would be in power for 8 years, then things would switch. Thus it was best to stay in the middle. That started changing after Nixon and has gotten worse. Then came Trump who probably has been the absolute worse in terms of demanding that everyone be loyal not to the country, but to him. All hopes for America not rest on getting him out of office and beginning to try to return this country toward the center again. Loyalty to the country, not to an individual.
