How Trump Led Republicans Make For A Fearful America

Americans in general, and Republicans specifically, began showing their true colors immediately after 9/11/. America had been home of the brave, defenders of truth and living good lives as long as bad things were occurring elsewhere. We had stood firm against torture and mistreatment of people anywhere until then, but once it crossed the oceans and happened in our homeland everything changed.

Suddenly, torture was okay, mistreatment of people who were different from us was justified. We became as frightened as children in a terrible storm no longer the home of the brave. We became suspicious, uncertain, untrusting, and unwilling to accept anyone unlike ourselves. That was the start of divisions among our peoples into tribalism and distrust of our institutions. That allowed someone like Trump to capitalize on those uncertainties and further divide us.

Donald Trump has single-handedly brought this country closer to a second civil war, and we stood by and let him do it. No one with authority stood up and said, “Enough, this is not who we are.” Actually, there may have been a few but they were too few, too late.

It does little good for me or anyone else to scream, cry, stomp our feet at the things this greedy monster has done to America and our preferred way of life. It matters little that we are sickened to see children in cages. It apparently matters not that there are over 500 children who are, essentially, without parents. They can’t be found because of Trump’s practice of separating children.

Donald Trump is a liar. Should I or anyone else be surprised? No one who has paid any attention to Trump would be surprised at all. He has been a liar all of his life. He lied to avoid military service and then mocked those who did serve.

But, here again, it does no good to curse what he was because he showed us. He started off his political career fear-mongering and a good-sized portion of the American people believed his scare tactics. Many still do. His failures to lead have resulted in the deaths of more than two hundred thousand Americans.

No, there is no reason to cry over mistakes that were made in 2016. That was four years ago. But, what is the old saying, “Fool me once, shame on you, Fool me twice, shame on me.”

A week from now we have a chance to correct those foolish mistakes. The fear is gone. We all now know Trump for what he really is; a low life who will stoop to any low level to achieve his goals. Not yours, not America’s, not the right ones, but his. He will lie, steal, likely even kill (no not himself for he is too cowardly) in order to get his way.

Oh, and his minions, Moscow Mitch and the other cowardly Republican Senators who took a pass on doing the right thing, they are just as dangerous.

OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!!!

Now is the time to show them that Americans no longer fear them
