Is It Really Censorship or Is It A Matter of Responsibility?

Read Time:2 Minute, 20 Second

by Glenn R. Geist

Oh come on, why would I think your little quip wasn’t a personal insult? I would have to either be stupid, grossly ignorant or a dishonest Trumper to buy the assertion that Zuckerberg is a “Nazi” for posting a warning about something blatantly dishonest you might post on his platform. Only he can decide the truth?

Sorry, It’s obvious that what you’re saying in your blowing-it-out-the-butt way is that only you can decide what is true, and what should be in doubt on a private platform you use for free. Want to know why the Journal of the American Medical Association won’t print your opinions on neurosurgery? [hint, it’s not because they’re Nazis or are indulging in illegal censorship]

No, I’m sorry, none of us have absolutely free speech and no one ever did. We are responsible for what we say and the consequences thereof and why should social media be forced to be accessories to your criminal conspiracies, or even your moronic lies and delusions. That’s hardly what a Nazi would do, is it – but while we are on the subject, do you think Adolph Hitler would have protected your right to call him a liar or an autocrat? Would he interfere when someone made a death threat against you?

Congress is prohibited from interfering with a free press, but that hardly confuses calls for murder and mayhem with free speech like you do. That’s not even hyperbole, it’s something you’d toss your new shoes away for if you stepped in it. That some invented number of other confused, dishonest imbeciles agree with you is something you need to discuss with your psychiatrist, not try to abuse rational people with.

Don’t pretend that you’ll be censured or censored for legitimate controversies. Even you aren’t that stupid.  Did Dr. Descartes say “I wish not to believe, therefore it’s fake news?”  I don’t think so. The truth is approachable. The truth is real.

Sure I could go on trying to deconstruct your little tantrum, but I won’t dignify it with such a title when your argument falls apart on its own the way a dog turd on the sidewalk might do in a long hard rain.

No, absolute truth may be unreachable in a Heisenbergian way, We may not know what one over zero is, but we can know an answer that is arbitrarily close and if you hadn’t dropped out of that Mississippi grade school, you’d know too. There is no question. the Biden/Harris ticket won the election by every measure and all the sophistry and flawed argument you stink of will not change that. Get over it and get out of here.

An English woman’s views on America today!

Really enjoy reading what well informed people here have to say.
Obviously being English I don’t understand the politics of America and how they work. Just know I detest trump and glad he’s finally been found out for the horrible person he is, although not by his moronic followers, especially the mob that invaded and caused such damage and even death in the government building.

I have friends that are American, and live in America, who also despise him. I actually did many years ago when I was a young teenager. Thankfully this will be the end of trump it’s unbelievable he ever became your President.
Biden/Harris Yes!

Most of us detest the guy but there are 70 million plus idiots that live here and not enough beds in the insane house for them. Sad really when you stop and think.

Whiny snowflakes got all their tiny fee fees hurt and I sent some Desitin baby butt cream to McCarthy in the house with a really nice greeting card seeing as they are all butthurt. I don’t advise any of you to call th switchboard and ask or his office, nope would not advise it at all. Just in case though 202-225-4000 😉

some of my neighbors are like that too. I won’t get my car keyed, unless it’s in a parking lot, since I live behind a gate in my fancy area 😉

Excellent essay Glenn. When Trump first went into office someone should have been able to slap some sense into him about the power of words that come from the mouth of the POTUS. In fact, the last four years have had me thinking that somehow we need a better back up plan than impeachment or the 25th Amendment should we ever get another Trump in office. But, then again, who is going to stop that backup plan from being even more corrupt than the original problem. Fucking humans!

Most people don’t understand the nuances of the Bill of Rights, in particular the First and Second amendments. They believe they actually have a right to say what they want anywhere and say while carrying a gun.

Right Wing nut jobs, including members of the US Congress, calls censorship anything that anyone restricts them from saying or doing. Where the Right is concerned ‘responsibility’ is non-existent.
