The Meek May Inherit, But There May Not Be Much Left

Read Time:3 Minute, 24 Second

by Glenn R. Geist

Senator Warren’s people bombed my inbox this morning with another circus parade and marching band shouting about “millionaires” and the need to make them pay “their fair share,” and of course pretending to solicit my opinion when the true solicitation was just plain old money.

What’s a fair share?  depends on your greed, and yes, you don’t have to be rich or super-rich to be greedy. Is having a million bucks worth of assets middle class or is it the 1 percent? Live in some places and a run-of-the-mill house is over a million even efficiency apartments in some cities can be more than that.  Times have changed since the people with the man buns and rings in the nose flunked econ 101.

Her email contains the same old litany about Big Pharma and how only progressives are trying to help us during this pandemic and the final solution to all problems being a wealth tax levied on “millionaires” or the 1% as though those aren’t two extremely different crowds. A few of the latter have actually contributed billions to world health.

“Republicans are gearing up to crush our Progressives & strip us of health care for all to protect the top 1%.”

Really? Now I’m not entirely sure what a Progressive is and can’t explain the large difference in the angry rhetoric used by all those who claim to be one, but I am sure that a million bucks isn’t what it used to be during the Depression when so much of these canned tirades were first penned.

I am, as a “sorta” Liberal in favor of affordable and accessible health care, but do I have to accept AOCs version with no other option lest I am pigeonholed as the enemy of the people or worse – an independent thinker with some experience?

“Did you know that people in poorer communities are being passed over for vaccines compared to people in wealthier communities?”

One thing I don’t know is that the sole or even the major factor is the malice of millionaires or the greed of “Big Pharma” I don’t know that they are being passed over and are not also resistant and suspicious, or that they lack transportation.

Actually, I see “Big Pharma” as having pulled off an unprecedented semi-miracle of advanced biochemistry here, It’s likely that the world’s population would be reduced by one-half without the advanced knowledge and technology behind it.

It reminds me of the 60s and the “whitey’s on the moon” philosophy that asked us to give the money that changed the world as much or more than anything else in history, to the poor.  I feel the poor would still be with us and probably more of them without the digital technology that came out of big this and big that and of course Capitalism.

Progressives—they’re active in howling about how Biden has done nothing about the most important things like handing out money and forgiving college loans and giving free tuition. Although some of that may have merit, the man has been president for a month and no kids, we’re not there yet. The fascists still have their hands around our necks and are effectively strangling democracy and the rule of law. It’s about our survival, not you.

So, I’m happy Ms. Warren isn’t president. Neither she nor her supporters are able to handle the Trumpers or provide the leadership without the class warfare, without the fake economics. these people can’t see the difference between the middle class and the people with hundreds of billions through the smokescreen of jealousy.

They’re against democracy and in favor of theory and the inevitable authoritarianism that is needed to carry out unpopular ideas.  So no, I won’t be donating the asked for three bucks. I won’t be accepting my free money either, greedy millionaire racist exploiter of the masses that I must be, and I won’t be donating it to the self-appointed champions of the masses either. It will go to Autism research.

Never and a day would be the amount of time it would take for me NOT to be a progressive. Those I’ve met are as nutty aa Q-anon and that’s pretty nutty. Fact is it all goes back to the almighty greenback, and that’s that.

Too right! No matter their colour be it red or blue they are still politicians and all crooks

I am not a progressive because progressives ask for the impossible and refuse to accept that impossibility. I am a moderate thinker, who may occasionally stray to the right or to the left. I like to think I’m not a fanatic for either cause.

Lol Glenn. I am still getting those emails as well, plus I am also getting emails from the Trumps asking for money. It is amazing how many people are asking for handouts. I point out in a comment on another post I have enough money to be comfortable which I would not have if I gave five bucks to everybody who asks for it. I give money to some animal causes and a couple of local shelters but I figure if someone does not get elected because of the lack of my five bucks they should not be running for office. Of course, I would gladly give five bucks to watch Trump be thrown off the top of El Capitan. Hell, I might even give twenty bucks to see that and bet another five on whether or not he would bounce.

Bravo Glenn.

I’m not sure what a progressive is, I do know what a politician is. Politicians care deeply about their constituents and they need money, fast, so they can keep caring. They’re all politicians.
