Congressional Kook Marjorie Taylor Greene Says U.S. Capitol Is ‘One of the Most Evil Places’

Read Time:1 Minute, 30 Second

Last week, the House of Representatives voted to award Congressional Gold Medals to the Capitol Police, the D.C. police, and the Smithsonian Institution in recognition of their service in protecting the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, when it was attacked and overrun by Trump-loving insurrectionists bent on preventing Congress from certifying Joe Biden’s electoral victory.

Only 12 House members voted against the resolution, all of them Republicans. Among them was right-wing conspiracy theorist Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, who took to Facebook following the vote to explain that she had opposed it because, among other things, the resolution referred to the Capitol as “the temple of our American Democracy,” which she felt was an insult to God.

On Wednesday, Greene held a town hall back in Georgia where she doubled down, saying she refused to support the resolution because the U.S. Capitol is “one of the most evil places.”

“It called the Capitol ‘a temple,’ Greene said. “[House Speaker Nancy Pelosi] thinks that place is a church, and she calls it a sacred place. I cannot vote for a bill that calls the Capitol ‘a temple.’ That is one of the most evil places; horrible things happen there. They attack God’s creation and wipe out male and female. It’s a place where they make abortion legal and fund it to kill over 62 million people in the womb. That is not a temple. And if it is a temple, God is not in that temple.”

In addition, Greene says that a vaccine passport is “Biden’s Mark of the Beast” and that any company the requires one is engaging in “corporate communism.”

Good grief!

I remember those yellow cards, very well as a matter of fact. What I don’t remember is what happened to them. As to Christianity, you are right when you say “it is fading away.” Unfortunately I doubt I will still be kicking and commenting by the time it is no longer influencing America and Americans.

I have a friend who told me that Trump’s era “was spiritually driven.” When I asked whether she meant by this that Trump’s supporters believe God’s hand is on Trump, this moment and at the 2016 election—that Donald Trump is God’s man, in effect—she told me, “Yes—a number of people said they believe there is no other way to explain his victories. Starting with the election and continuing with the conclusion of the Mueller report and beyond. Many said God has chosen him and is protecting him.” There was no comment regarding the 2020 election, only the standard line: “God works in mysterious ways.” People like MTG are downright frightening. Save us from those who would save us.

More content-free, religious ranting. I have flushed better things than her god.

For years as a youngster, I carried a yellow card along with my passport assuring that I had been vaccinated for smallpox. No country would let you in without it. I don’t remember anyone at all being offended by proving they were immune to one of the worlds biggest and oldest threats. What the hell is this all about? It’s about the bloody claws of Christianity – at least what Americans call Christianity. It is fading away and it’s because it has nothing to contribute but hate, ignorance, stupidity and perverted authoritarianism. It is the enemy of freedom, of choice, of democracy, of science, of life or liberty or the pursuit of happiness.

If Washington is evil it would be her life’s wish and accomplishment and there is no place in our future for these sick, perverted subhuman creatures with their stunted brains.

Sorry, want to come into the US? Carry a passport. Want to drive on the public streets? Want to carry a gun? Carry a license. Want to vote? Register or you and your slimy prehistoric god can get the hell out of here.
