An Englishman Comments On the Irony of BLM UK

Read Time:3 Minute, 14 Second

I’ve said it on more than one occasion. Black Lives Matter UK bears little if any resemblance to BLM in the USA. Certainly, they aren’t averse to the odd bit of rioting or attacking the odd police officer or two, but, on the whole, they bear little resemblance nor have very much in common with their American counterparts.

The primary reason is that they aren’t actually needed in the UK.

No, we are far from perfect and yes, racism can raise its head here and there, but on the whole, black people or people of color or those of African Caribbean heritage – or whatever terminology you prefer – do not get killed, randomly or otherwise, by the British police. By each other certainly, but not by the British police.

The number of black people who die in police custody is minuscule – as you would hope given their percentage of the population. Far more white people die in police custody.

The vast majority who do so almost always die of drug or alcohol-related issues.

The statistics for this are readily available if anyone is interested.

So, given our police don’t go around killing black people, and given that despite racism and color prejudice still being in existence – hardly surprising really. After all, when you’re dealing with humanity there will always be some eh? – most black British know damn well that they are safe, at least, from police brutality and murder.

Sasha Johnson held a different view. Well, as she is still alive in intensive care, I assume she still holds it.

She was clearly convinced that white people, in general, were bad news and, indeed, any black people who disagreed with her were also bad news. She actually called a black reporter asking her questions ‘a coon’ because he had the audacity to suggest she might be incorrect in her beliefs.

She also had her Twitter account blocked for tweeting that “we don’t want equality we want whites to be our slaves”.

A charming young lady then.

Of course, her newly found political party called the ‘Taking The Initiative Party’ or TTIP for short, insisted her Twitter account had been hacked and somebody else had tweeted that. Twitter disagreed and blocked her account.

I just mentioned that she is in intensive care. Well, a few days ago she was shot in the head outside a party in London.

Labour MP’s Dianne Abbott and Dawn Butler, both African Caribbean descent politicians, immediately jumped onto their Twitter accounts stating how horrific it was that Sasha Johnson should be shot for being an activist for BLM and black rights.

The following day it was revealed she was shot by a black man. Apparently, four of them came into the front garden of the party and one of them shot her in the head. Further details are sketchy, but four black men were sought by police and, lately, it appears they have been arrested.

Suffice to say, Abbott, Butler, BLM UK, and TTIP have gone strangely silent on the matter. Well, other than a spokesperson for TTIP questioning the veracity of the police stating the perpetrators were four black men. Rather inconvenient for them I suppose.

Johnson has modeled her appearance on the ‘Black Panthers’ of the USA, which has not endeared her to much of the population of the UK, and not just the 86% white population either from the sounds of things.

Her political party, TTIP, has yet to field a candidate in any election. The probability is their deposit will be lost.

What support BLM UK initially had has decreased within the ‘ordinary’ population to the point of insignificance. Only the MSM still seem somewhat obsessed with them, along with some sporting celebrities.

So there you go Black Lives Matter UK. Your own Sasha Johnson clearly didn’t come from your own community did it then?

Cherries : Hello. Where did I suggest she was targeted? For what it’s worth, whilst I’ve no time for her, I wouldn’t wish anything horrific like that on anybody so I genuinely hope she makes a full recovery.

Mistreatment of black people isn’t in the same category as killing them. Besides, there’s plenty of mistreatment of others lately.

Any police guilty of such will hopefully be treated accordingly irrespective of who’ve they’ve mistreated.

As everybody at the party was black and a black man shot at them, accidentally or otherwise hitting Johnson, some black lives clearly don’t matter to some other black people?

Awkward.

Sasha Johnson the BLM activist, a graduate of Ruskin College, was shot in the head, according to police, accidentally and not targeted!
Very sadly she’s still in a serious condition.
Incidentally there are several cases of uk police mistreating black people including ongoing investigations.

I’m far away and in another country, (with apologies to Christopher Marlow.) Ignorance demands that I can’t comment on things in the UK, but I have to agree that all those frequently amorphous and disorganized groups who want you to identify them with some cause are not equal. I think the NAACP has done a far greater job without the “when do we want it? NOW” people screaming in the street. MLK didn’t throw rocks. There are enough elected black officials now to make a difference. BLM is out of date and trying to relive what they think the 60s were. All my own opinion, of course.

BLM seems to define the cause of justice a bit differently than I do and although I may be wrong, there seems an element of “it’s all about us and no one but us may have a word to say about it.” The kind of people who will call you a racist for pointing out massacres of other peoples.

You don’t get it and I am done explaining to anyone why they don’t get it.
