Boebert: Texas Had No Covid Deaths Since Mask Requirement Rescinded—She Lied

Read Time:2 Minute, 12 Second

by Michael John Scott

Unbalanced Lauren Boebert of Colorado and other equally unbalanced Republican lawmakers are rebelling against the requirement that members of Congress wear a mask while on the floor of the House of Representatives.  Why? Because that’s what their God-King, Trump, would do of course.

Boebert appeared on the “Dr. Gina Primetime” program, on Wednesday, which is hosted by right-wing commentator Gina Loudon and airs on the right-wing Real America’s Voice network, where she falsely claimed that masks are not necessary because Texas has not reported a single COVID-19 death since the state lifted all restrictions over two months ago. What? Is this young woman as dumb as she looks, or is it just a lie, is a lie, is a lie?  Lying is a learned behavior and if they hadn’t learned as children they learned from Trump.  After all, he lied literally thousands of times and got away with it.

Boebert proudly stated:

“I’m really enjoying telling Speaker Pelosi to, ‘Kiss my mask,’  [Rep.] Thomas Massie and I both got warnings, and both of our letters ended up in the same exact place ironically: the trash. Leftists won’t even listen to the bureaucrats at the CDC, and it just goes to show that this party’s ‘Follow the Science’ slogan is a total joke, just like this entire administration, just like the entire Democrat Party. They want to tell you to listen to science and listen to data and facts, but they haven’t done that for more than a year. Two weeks to slow the spread turned into communism really, really quickly.”

She went on to say:

“Texas removed their mask mandate two months ago, and Sleepy Joe called it ‘Neanderthal thinking,’”  “No, sir. Republicans are just following the science, and since removing the mask mandate two months ago, Texas has not reported a single COVID death. Not one.”

Texas’ ‘beyond the pale even for a Republican’ governor, Greg Abbott, lifted all COVID-19 restrictions in Texas on March 2. According to data provided by the Texas Department of State Health Services, the state had recorded 46,538 deaths at that point.

So, here’s the truth, as of May 19, Texas has reported 50,051 deaths, meaning that according to Texas’ own “COVID-19 Total Fatalities by County” chart, more than 3,500 people have died of COVID-19 since the state removed all restrictions two months ago.  Think about that: 3,500 human souls. Not one, but 3,500, and Boebert and those of her lying ilk dishonor the families and friends of those lost folk.

These people are behaving like bratty children in class at school. But, here there is no principal to send them to see and I don’t think they can be suspended or sent to detention. No one would have ever conceived that adults who had been elected to a responsible position would be behaving like really bad children.

[…] mask requirements. That would be zero, none. Which Michael finds, by wild coincidence, to be the exact amount of truth to Boebert’s claim.   As to revolting Republican lawmakers, I confess to finding that completely consistent with […]

Until now I could not have conceived of either this level of mass insanity or it being promoted and preached in this way. It’s like that ancient story about the rat catcher in the town of Hamlin. In the end he led the towns children to hell.
