Check Out “The Abyss,” It’s Even Better the Second Time Around
by Bill Formby
I was just settling in the other night trying to find a good movie and one sure way to do that is when you find one that you had watched before and it really stuck with you.
So, while surfing, I came across “The Abyss” which I remembered being a decent flick.
So my dog and best pal Rivers settled down, me with my chips and he with whatever he was chewing on at the time. I was really surprised as it was far better than I remembered. The acting was great and the special effects, well, that is what James Cameron does best. It had enough action to keep you interested, and the photography was outstanding.
I have always liked Ed Harris. The Actor has always given a solid performance and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio was also very good. The star of the movie was, to me, the plot and the entire concept that aliens might be living at the bottom of the oceans. It was that difference and Cameron’s photography that made for a great film.
If you haven’t seen it before, do yourself a favor and go on Netflix and watch it. If you have, see it again. The second time around is even better.

I love this movie so much I bought it years ago and have watched it at least ten times.
I love it as well, although I’ve not bought it yet. I might buy it on Blu-Ray so I can get that great sound and picture.
