Why An Englishman Doesn’t Think Israel Is the Bad Guy

Read Time:2 Minute, 39 Second

by Neil Bamforth

There have been protests in London in support of Gaza and Hamas. There have been protests against Israel. Supporters of Gaza and Hamas drove through predominantly Jewish areas of London and, via a megaphone, announced that they believed Jewish people should be killed and their daughters raped. The last I heard only two people had been arrested in connection with this behavior.

So. Let me get this straight.

Hamas fire rockets at Israel in an unprovoked attack. Israel fire back to ‘take out’ said Hamas rocket launchers and lots of Gaza civilians are killed. Innocent men, women, and children.

Yes. Quite horrific.

But how are Israel to blame? Because it was their rockets? Well, let’s think about this, shall we?

Hamas chose to put their rocket launchers in highly, even densely, populated areas. In other words, they are more than happy to sacrifice any number of innocent civilians. Probably the more the merrier from their point of view. After all, the more Israel kills, the more people turn against Israel, right?

Hamas has always placed its rocket launchers in heavily populated areas. They’ve even had them firing from hospitals before now. That, I would suggest, is about all you need to know about Hamas.

So the rockets head for Israel and most are destroyed by their defense system, known as The Iron Dome.

Most are destroyed. Not all. The odd one slips through and, in so doing, kills a number of Israeli citizens. In other words, Israel is under attack and some Israeli citizens are killed.

So what, precisely, is Israel expected to do?

Say “Oh never mind. It’s only a few of our citizens. Just chill and let’s go for a nice cold beer shall we?”

Of course not! Israel have done what absolutely any nation with the capability of defending itself would have done. They set about trying to destroy the enemy’s rocket launchers.

Yes, I’m sure they were well aware that, in the process, innocent civilians were likely to get caught up in it, but that was, and is, entirely the responsibility of Hamas.

Israel is not responsible for the deaths of Gaza civilians. Hamas is. And, no doubt, Hamas is delighted as more and more idiots around the world start protesting against Israel. Exactly what the Hamas terrorists wanted.

Hamas don’t care how many civilians died. Hamas probably wish it was more. International outrage! Innocent civilians killed!

What planet are these protesters on?

So can anyone help me out here? I’m confused.

Hamas purposely place rocket launchers in populated areas and fire them at Israel. Israel respond and try to ‘take out’ the rocket launchers. People in populated areas are hurt or killed.

Can anybody tell me, what alternative did Israel have? How can they defend themselves from attack any other way?

Please. Tell me. I am more than happy to hear that there was an alternate method of defending themselves. I’ve thought and thought and thought but I’m damned if I can think of one.

Perhaps the anti-Israel protesters actually do think the Israeli authorities really should have just ignored a few dead Israelis and gone down the pub.

Utter lunacy.

Good read but I don’t comment anywhere on I/P stories, never have never will.

Same here my friend. There are a few things I rarely comment on like police/citizen conflicts and this. Geoge Floyd killing was an exception, and I had to comment on it because it was fucking terrible.

Me too – no hashtag here, either. Using Human shields has been standard practice for decades, but beneath it all is the whispered premise that Israel has no right to protect its citizens because it’s an illegitimate country. The same fools think Hamas is a legitimate government when it’s not. The legitimate government has been marginalized to the point of irrelevance. Doesn’t anybody over there remember the V1 or the V2 – as I remember you fought back effectively and the world didn’t see you as the aggressor there.

Hamas has no stated purpose but to kill Jews – all of them and their little dogs too. It’s not a government any more than al Qaeda or ISIS is a government. Some Arab states seem to be rejecting Hamas, but I don’t know whether that’s for show or for real. Time will tell and more people will die.

I just read that the Hamas leader hasn’t allowed elections in 11 years. That speaks volumes.

When the Martian saucers arrive and ask for the leader, they’ll get nowhere.
