The Inevitable Ticking Clock

If I were to write a detailed summary of what I think of Ron DeSantis, it would be lengthy. But when I received yet another email “survey” from Remove Ron just now, asking me to tick off boxes indicating my gripes, I saw what I expected: it was a request for money.
I saw what I expected in that all were typical talking points like “gun safety” and “refusing to say that black lives matter” Is that really the biggest peril our country, our democracy, our personal freedom, and safety faces? I can think of infinitely bigger threats and one of them that is on the news at the moment. Ron, it seems, thinks this is the time we need not have an ambassador to China. According to Republican practice, holding our government hostage in order to undermine Democratic governments regardless of the danger is de rigueur. Sabotage and insurrection are Republican patriotism.
Why? because China’s military and economic power are expanding with their claimed territory. Now that they have fired an unstoppable missile that can attack any place in the world from any direction. Now that their ambition to invade Taiwan which is where all those semiconductors we need to build cars and computers and everything else is made. Ask me and I will tell you frankly that our survival and the survival of the free world is more important than that BLM can claim to be the one and only voice and sole advocate for all who have skin darker than a Manila envelope – that it’s more important than to allow firearms that look military but aren’t, and all that emotionally driven, star-spangled blather that emanates from the Left.
The real danger in the real world is not kids with guns, it’s a party that talks up endless, pointless war while leaving us defenseless as our adversaries gobble up the world, bit by bit. Ron Desantis, with his dim-witted pieties and retrograde bits of righteousness – with his greed and ambition and Florida tan is the real danger. Thousands of people of all ages have died, and continue to die because of him. New nuclear technology has started the doomsday clock once again while his party complains about leaving Afghanistan and doesn’t think China is a danger at all. And God help us, he has a shot at the presidency.

Please, no, just no! This Repugent Party has opened enough doors to Crazy Town and unleashed enough poisonous vitrole into the conversation and incited enough deadly dogma to ruin this country already. DeSatan would be the final match to burn, baby burn! Reduce this country to ashes.
I agree. In a post-Trump world, it’s not so hard to see a fool like DeSantis occupying the Oval Office. That should scare everybody. It scares me.
