The Battle Between ‘Bad Jesus’ and ‘Good Jesus’: A Call for Authentic Christianity in Modern Times

Read Time:2 Minute, 53 Second

In today’s world, religious hypocrisy surrounds us. It has infiltrated our societies, causing divisiveness, hate, and the manipulation of government institutions. This phenomenon, dubbed as ‘Bad Jesus,’ has become the face of Evangelical Christianity for many. But this is not the true essence of Christianity, nor is it the message that most Christians follow. These individuals believe in ‘Good Jesus,’ striving to live with love, humility, and respect for others, regardless of their religious beliefs. Unfortunately, ‘Bad Jesus’ seems to be winning the battle, and if we are not careful, we may all lose in the end.

The rise of ‘Bad Jesus’ can be traced to the increasing influence of Evangelical Christianity in politics and government. Over the years, some Evangelical leaders have manipulated their followers to pursue political agendas that align with their interests, often at the expense of others. They have leveraged their authority to push through legislation restricting individual rights and promoting intolerance, all under the guise of ‘that’s what Jesus would do.’

In some cases, these leaders have used their influence to justify hate, discrimination, and bigotry, going against the very teachings of the legendary Jesus Christ. They have distorted the message of love, acceptance, and forgiveness that Jesus is said to have taught, turning it into something that benefits them politically and economically. This has led to a troubling disconnect between the core tenets of Christianity and the actions of some of its most infl

Despite the rise of ‘Bad Jesus,’ it is crucial to remember that most Christians believe in ‘Good Jesus.’ These individuals strive to live authentic lives that align with the teachings of Jesus. They seek to love their neighbors, to forgive those who have wronged them, and to serve their communities with compassion and empathy. They understand that true Christianity is about embracing the humanity of others and recognizing the divine within each person.

However, the prevalence of ‘Bad Jesus’ in the public sphere has led to a crisis of faith for many ‘Good Jesus’ believers. They feel disillusioned and disheartened by the actions of their fellow Christians and the negative portrayal of their faith in the media. This has created a sense of urgency for Christians to reclaim their religion’s true essence and bring the teachings of Jesus back to the forefront of their lives.

The battle between ‘Bad Jesus’ and ‘Good Jesus’ is not just a matter of personal faith – it has real-world consequences that affect us all. As ‘Bad Jesus’ continues to infiltrate politics and government, we risk losing the very foundations upon which our society is built: freedom, equality, and justice for all.

To counter this, believers in ‘Good Jesus’ must come together and actively work to promote the true message of Christianity. They must engage in open and honest dialogue about the issues that divide them and seek common ground. They must also hold their leaders accountable and demand that they act following the teachings of Jesus.

The battle between ‘Bad Jesus’ and ‘Good Jesus’ cannot be won overnight. It requires a concerted effort by those who believe in the authentic teachings of Jesus to reclaim their faith and ensure that it remains a force for good in the world. By doing so, they can tip the scales in favor of ‘Good Jesus’ and create a more compassionate, just, and inclusive society for all.

For those good Christians, your battle cry should be “Up yours, Bad Jesus.”
