Does dieting waste your time and money?

Read Time:59 Second

I have been dieting for what seems like years.  I watch what I eat, exercise, and think good thoughts.  None of it seems to matter.  I don’t lose weight.  This article might shed some light on the subject.

Adults should give up on the charade of dieting, writes sociologist Amitai Etzioni. The body we have when we reach adulthood is pretty much the one we’re going to keep. We may take off weight here or there, but it always comes back. Think of anyone you know, famous or not, and compare them over a 10-year span, he suggests in a CNN essay. His larger point is to argue that all the wasted time paid to diet schemes and such “deflects attention from the one group in which healthy eating, especially if combined with exercise, can make a significant difference—children, the younger the better.”

Start them on healthy habits early, and improve school lunches and gym classes, he writes. “Physicians, dietitians and other public health professionals who determine our health care policies should shift most of their efforts to working with parents. They should not focus on reducing the parents’ body mass, but that of their kids.”

Dude, your sister is f’ing hot. I’d get all over that action. She must have gotten her looks from the parent you didn’t. Haha!

So, if I’m reading this right…If I reach a certain level of health, I will be allowed to lie topless on a bearskin rug? Does it come with the fireplace?

Being a little heavy does not mean you are unhealthy, being ideally slim doesn’t mean you are healthy. Eat a balanced diet and get your ass out of the chair occasionally, no matter what your body type.

Don’t even need to get out of the chair Holte. There are some very low impact things can be done sitting down, laying down. I can see the only people not being able to, you are just too sick, injured in some way that might prevent it.
