How YouTube Videos and FB posts Can Represent Disinformation

Let’s please remember that the Spanish Flu (1918) had three waves. It occurred because of people clamoring for things they could have been patient about.
Even though it is true that Spanish Flu originated in the United States, history books and academia refer to it as the Spanish Flu regardless of where it originated. And it had three waves. …and if you can’t figure out WHY the Spanish Flu HAD three waves and WHY this is relevant to ANY pandemic, including the one we’re experiencing right now today, well, then I cannot help you. I really can’t. No one can. I am not addressing anything else in regards to the Spanish Flu.
How any of this is lost on so many is beyond my grasp.
Medical science won’t work if the general population believes (not thinks) that they’re above what medical science proposes or that they’re more “woke” than the research doctors in the labs. …just because they watched 84,236 grainy OR slickly produced YouTube videos.
I’m well aware that the Facebook and YouTube rabbit holes ARE enticing and FULL of wonder and some really cool shit. However, please always be aware that sometimes poison is poured down a rabbit hole FOR a reason.
Has it ever occurred to you that the YouTube videos and the FB posts ARE part of the so-called Disinformation? To MAKE YOU “FEEL” “WOKE” yet instead a lot of it is purely made-up? I’m just going to let that stand there because it really doesn’t require any further explanation.
And if you now perhaps say that the Spanish Flu pandemic was in 1918 and can’t or shouldn’t be compared to today because we are so much smarter etc. Really?! Look around you. Could’ve fooled me. Yes, science and technology may have improved by unforeseen leaps and bounds since 1918, however, it’s exactly those people who then don’t believe in said advancements! That the lab scientists are “IN on the conspiracy.” Attitudes like this never computed with me.
You can’t have it both ways. You CANNOT say, “Yeah our science and tech has gotten infinitely better since 1918 so we shouldn’t worry as much.” AND THEN TURN AROUND AND SAY, “I believe most modern scientists are full of nonsense, because of YouTube.” Say what?!
Still, and I don’t say this in uncertain terms, one thing I DO KNOW from our entire civilization’s history is that we have encountered many pandemic challenges like this before and we emerged victorious. We WILL emerge victorious AGAIN also with this pandemic and from this craziness.
THIS is the time to work together, not to throw even more fire on each other. THIS can be the great change the majority of humanity has been waiting for. The changes for a better and more compassionate future! Spewing fire won’t accomplish this. I ask you to please check your scorched Earth attitude. The entire PLANET is affected by this. Not just you alone even though I UNDERSTAND that it feels like that. It’s ALL of us, in it together. It is up to each individual to either step up to the light side or continue with the dark side. Remember, the light always emerges victorious. So why waste time? 😉

I predict that in the future academics in the field of Political Science and advertising will have courses on the propaganda being thrown around during this period of time in history.
I predict you’re right and they should have such courses.
Even with Fox news and it’s barking dog AONN pumping out the bullshit day and night, I still think the most and the worst of it comes from Social media. For anyone who wants to believe anything at all, there is a website, a blog a phony news source many if not most of it comes from a malicious source with a Russian accent. It doesn’t matter how accessible the truth is, the nasty, the malicious all have something to refer to.
Perhaps some future textbook will list Argumentum ad Website as a fallacy. As a joke a few years ago I looked for “proof” that the Pythagorean Theorem was “fake news” I was not disappointed. Liars and con men are lazy and will turn to this. How do we survive it?
This is so very true!! There’s more shiite of FB and YouTube than in a city park outhouse during an event. I’ve blocked countless people, and no doubt, I’ve also been a blockee by those who disagree with my views.
