When Lions Roar: Dinner Fights Back

Lions are meat eaters. Lions are anything but vegetarians. Lions kill for food and they will kill and eat deer, antelope, zebra and pretty much anything killable that they can eat. That’s cool. It’s nature at work. The cycle of life and so forth.

French photographer Laurent Renaud caught this amazing sight quite by chance.

Mind you, lions don’t expect their dinner to fight back any more than we humans do. I mean, what would we do if our chicken dinner suddenly attacked us? Well, it isn’t likely is it really? Still, when lions kill to eat their dinner starts off very much alive.

The lion in the picture got a shock when its dinner joined forces with other buffalo and its buffalo steak dinner suddenly attacked it.

Isn’t nature wonderful?

Have you ever before seen an embarrassed lion?

Now you have 😉

The Cape Buffalo is considered one of the more dangerous animals in Africa. But it does not save its ire just for lions. According to some in the national parks the animal has associated white people from blacks and will attack whites for more often. It is believed that this is because they associated whites with hunters who kill the buffaloes for trophies. They have reportedly run past the black guides to get to whites hunters. I find that hilarious as hell.

My wife’s great uncle was in ‘The Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes’ – I am now rather pleased I never got on the wrong side of him!!! 😉
