I’m not following this story in some ways. Is it lead pipes or not? and why does changing the source of the water make a difference if there are lead pipes? And is the Flint River the source of the lead or the pipes or both? Somebody straighten me out on this please. Thank you.
It was lead pipes, and the lead had corroded leeching chemicals into the water rendering it undrinkable. There was also some chemical they were supposed to introduce into the water to render it drinkable for longer, but the state decided they didn’t want to spend the money because this was nothing but a poor, black area after all.
