Three Lions? More Like Three Pussies!

Read Time:4 Minute, 40 Second

America gave it their best shot and didn’t quite have the edge against Ghana – who were very good indeed.

America left The World Cup with considerable dignity and could rightly hold their heads high.

Oh dear.

England. My England.

Debacle? Shame? Pathetic?

I’m not angry you know. I went beyond angry after the Algeria game.

International players who earn thousands of pounds per week at club level but can’t actually play at international level.

Elderly people die from the cold as they can’t afford their heating bills, British soldiers get blown to fuck in Iraq and Afghanistan and, assuming they’re still alive, receive less in compensation for losing arms and legs than an English footballer receives weekly.

The embarrassing debacle that was England in this World Cup just about sums up our country at the moment.

We have an Italian manager who replaced a Swedish manager, we have average players who are selected as, due to the influx of foreign players, our own English players end up languishing in reserve teams or giving up altogether.

I just sent a message to the Football Association stating that they must place a blanket ban on foreign players in England and set a maximum number allowed in any one game. 3 sounds good. That ensures that 9 players in every team in our Premiership are English.

The Football Associations failure to impliment this rule several years ago has finally resulted in embarressment.

We lose to Germany? So it goes. We get embarressed by Germany – or indeed any other international side – then something is clearly amiss.

The quality of our game – at international level – has suffered for some time by the influx of foreign players in our Premiership league. Certainly they are highly talented and the managers of said Premiership sides are under inordinate preasure to win trophies.

Talented foreign players can help clubs achieve success which keeps managers in their jobs.

Occasionally you may get the odd ‘Carlos Kick-a-ball’ but, generally, the foreign players enhance the game and the success a club can achieve.

It has to stop.

Teams – Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal etc etc etc – must be told the rules are changing as of the 2011/12 season.

Whether they like it or not is immaterial.

If the FA haven’t the balls to do it England will sink away into a ‘third world’ footballing nation.

Some might say we already have….

I’m not angry with England for their abject and frequently incompetent failure. I’m sad.

Sad that a once great footballing nation has become a shadow of its former self – mainly due to allowing clubs to buy and field far too many foreign players at the expense of English players.

A bit like England the country really I suppose.

Too many foreigners diluting our country. Changing the very face and fabric for the worse – for the worse if you’re English anyway.

It isn’t the foreigners fault anymore than it’s Arsenal’s or Manchester United’s fault in football.

It isn’t Manager Arsene Wengers fault at Arsenal or Sir Alex Ferguson’s fault at Manchester United.

It is the fault of the government at national level and the Football Association at football level.

We’ve allowed foreigners in at a far greater level than we should have and it is beginning to harm us.

As a country and as a footballing nation to continue the analogy.

A blanket ban on immigration and a blanket ban on any league side fielding more than 3 foreign players.

As a result, Premiership sides would have to sell on many foreign players elsewhere.

As a result many foreigners would choose to leave England.

Both scenarios are based on sound reasoning.

Football clubs would have to try harder to find quality English players – resulting in a greater player base for the international manager to select from and, ultimately, a more talented national team.

A blanket ban on foreigners coming to England to reside would result in many leaving as their families were stopped from entering resulting in higher employment for English people, a reduced drain on the health service and a reduction in benefits paid out to immigrants who, far from seeking work, are clearly quite happy to claim benefits and live a better life than they could at home without even having to work.

You only have to look at the shit England the country is in and the shit England the footballing international team are in to follow that logic.

My poor poor England.

What have we let ‘them’ do to you?

To us.

My daughter watched the game in a local pub with some friends.

At half time several muslim youths appeared waving a German flag and chanting anti-English sentiments.

I don’t (necessarily) condone violence, but I was delighted to be informed by my daughter that several England fans emerged from said pub and, not to put too fine a point on it, punched their lights out.

The police duly arrived and, assisted by an ambulance, a number of muslim youths were removed from the scene.

Naturally, nobody in the pub saw a thing…..quite right too…;-)

We need to fight to regain our England.

The England WE want as, quite simply, the England immigrants appear to want should never be allowed to exist.

OUR England. OUR ENGLAND ALONE.

I’m not angry at our players.

Just very very saddened at what we have allowed our nation to become.

Then again! Perhaps we should have an American coach!!! I think I’ve found just the man for the job!!!…;-)

Let’s be careful out there…..

I gave it at least 90 seconds, then I feel asleep. Not even those horn things could keep me awake. Sorry, maybe next time..

Sorry bro, speaking of foreign blood, you had Dwight York from Trinidad playing in the English League too, he’s from my neck of the woods.

I am sad that although we could save our British friends from crushing defeat in two World Wars, we were unable to save them from the Krauts this time.

My condolences 4D. Auf Wedersehen old bean.

Good point Holty – and quite true!

However, our foreigners are generally not very good at football….when did India or Pakistan or Somalia ever qualify for anything football related? (and yes I know a few are doing well at cricket….zzzzzzzz)

The foreign players we have in our Premier league are generally quite fantastic but, I suspect they won’t have kids over here and register them as English so…the immediate benefits of top quality players in the future goes nowhere at international level.

Our African Carribean immigrants of the 50’s have resulted in Emile Heskey, Paul Ince, Ian Wright, Shaun Wright-Phillips etc etc etc = a real immigrant benefit to our game.

It’s not the ‘immigrants’ I have a problem with when it comes to football…it’s the foreign players who, whilst enhancing our Premier teams are also holding back English youngsters.

A maximum of 3 non English players for 2011/12 would A) Scare the crap out of Arsenal / Man Utd / Chelsea etc but B) Would force them to find good young English players.

If that resulted in the short term of a fall in quality in the Premiership – and a fall in success in Europe for a while – so be it.

Theo Walcott went to The World Cup in 2006 as a 17 year old. Not even in the squad in 2010.

It has to change dramatically or England, as a footballing nation, are finished.

England, as a nation, are finished if drastic measures are not taken.

It’s just the way it is old bean.

We react nationally and/or football wise or we’re history.

I don’t want England to be history.

…and it bloody well won’t be!!!…;-)

I agree non-EU players in the EPL should be restricted, that in itself wold be a boon to English-born players. There are about 200 Brazilians playing in European league, many dozens of Argentinians and Uruguayans and other south Americans, we make them good international teams by giving their best players games at the highest club level. If they all had to play in their own countries, most of them would quit, because they can’t make a living.

But surely it’s all the foreigners that are kicking England’s backside at football, so let more in and try and cross-breed a decent team.

The Germans had Ghanian Boetong, Oezil his parents are Turkish, Gomez is not a very German name and they have a Brazilian born player who was suspended for this game, Miroslav Klose was born in Poland and Podolski has Polish blood too.

The Germans might win it all with the help of a few foreigners.

Tomcat – No allowance mate. You got there on merit and skill and determination and team work.

The World Cup is a sadder competition without the USA. Neutrals across the globe cheered you on – perhaps surprisingly? – but football fans know a team that is giving their all when they see one.

America did.

For what it’s worth, I would be proud to be American after what your guys achieved. The day before or the day after it could have easily been America into the Quarter Finals.

Further improvement? Very likely. 2014? You never know. You really never know.

I’m thankful that they allowed the US to get into the 16 round.
