MMA Is Saying Goodbye To Politics and Hello To People and Pets

Read Time:1 Minute, 40 Second

Just in time for Christmas, I am changing our format from politics to just people and pets.  Life is too short to be consumed by the likes of a lumbering salivator such as Donald Trump and crazies like the QAnonites as well as betrayers such as Joe Manchin, idiot Republicans, weak-kneed Democrats, and politicians in general.  Never let it be said that I discriminate.

So, moving forward I will be publishing and republishing articles that speak to dogs, people and dogs, and plain dogs, dogs, dogs, with a few cats and other critters thrown in.  In addition articles about life, and living will be offered, as well as stories that speak to climate change, and, sadly, the horrors that may accompany it, without the attendant politics.

There will also be entertainment reviews, you know like books (gasp), movies, and TV shows, including the news. For example, I just watched “Don’t Look Up” an Adam McKay comedy, albeit anguished and frightening, about how we the people are really blowing it as we hurtle toward oblivion.  This star-filled saga has plenty of laughs; good, bad, and indifferent.  It might also make you weep, if not outright sob, and it won’t be for the reasons you think.  Don’t miss this Netflix gem.

Please feel free to submit articles that speak to anything but politics, and everything about people doing things other than politics. How about stuff you’ve seen on TV, or at the theater, both stage and screen, and about books you may have read, and of course about animals, particularly dogs as seen in this picture of my dog Whiskey expressing his feelings toward Christmas. Our long-time contributor Glenn Geist shares a personal story that I guarantee you will like.

So, my friends, Merry Christmas to you, or if you prefer, Happy Holidays, and I could never give a fuck which way you say it, as long as I think you mean it.  I mean it, and may 2022 be good to you.

I’m sorry to see yas giving up on politics. Over the years you all have provided me with hours of laughter reading your political bias.

Have a happy New Year

Rambo, I have been writing on Mike’s blog for, I believe, about 14 years or so. I have to say that it has been fun even through the Bush years. To me most of the fun left when people put Trump in office, It was no longer funny to know just how stupid a sizable number of Americans were and how much corruption they would tolerate. I think I have personally called Trump and his minions every name in the book and there are those who write on this publication that are more astute than I have called him names that I had to Google. But, Trump had a theory that proved to be correct that I do not believe most of us did not anticipate. If you lie boldly enough and repeat it enough, people will begin to believe what you say and do and not what they see or know is the truth otherwise. As Kelly Anne Conway said, “There are ‘Alternate Facts”. That is the one thing that Trump accomplished. Don’t believe your lying eyes or ears, but only what Trump said or did. AND, look at the fact people are still doing that.

Good deal Mike. Hopefully, it will catch on. I recently watched a series on Amazon called “Hanna”. I thought it was well done, though it was, hopefully, more in the vein of “1984”. A rogue element of the C.I.A. was training young women to become assassins of everyone under the age of 30 who were liberal thinking type, young people. When put to the test they naturally don’t succeed but it is a well-constructed series.

Burned out on politics myself Mike. Look forward to the change. There were only so many insults we could hurl at trump and his minions anyway. Ran out of stuff to say.
