Brett Favre’s Retirement Is One Hall Of Fame Defender Away
If this isn’t the cutest baby anyone has ever seen then there is no such thing as a cute baby.
Despite Brett Favre’s unending play about retiring every year, and his 16 million a year salary, I kind of feel some sympathy for him.
His Vikings team and head coach are hapless. Brett can’t rally the team the way he could rally teams throughout his career. He looks his age. It’s painful watching a great player like Brett Favre have to finish his career in this way. But that’s the way it is with most players. They almost always leave a year too late. And Brett favre is a proud man. He’ll keep playing and trying to reawaken the magic he possessed for all these years.
When I was a kid I watched an old Willie Mays play the outfield. It wasn’t pretty. It’s not pretty watching Brett anymore either. Brett’s coach Brad Childress doesn’t have the balls to bench Brett. Brett can’t just retire in the middle of the season even though his team is out of it. The best solution in my opinion is to wait for a game that has a sure Hall of Famer on defense. Brett can take one last hit from a player that isn’t beneath him in stature and end his career on the field. It sure would beat more of those sad after game press conferences Brett Favre will have to endure till season’s end. And Brett can go out with his cleats on.
There aren’t many great players that are able to leave the game gracefully. This way is the only way I can think of for Brett Favre to say goodbye.

I’ve written a welcome goodbye to this guy at least twice. He is the definition of a raging egomaniac. I am still flabbergasted that SI every gave this ex drug addict, cry baby it’s Sportsman of the year award. He is the prototypical pampered, self centered athlete. The day that he’s gone from the national stage can’t get here quickly enough. I hope he goes out with as much ignominy as possible.
Favre is like some ex-champion boxers, ‘just one more fight, I still got.’ When he does finally quit his book will make interesting reading.
I wish players would understand they’re not bigger than the team or the league MadMike.
Did you see what Derek Jeter is demanding from the Yankees? Speaking of that, I demand a raise of at least triple what you’re paying me now Mike.
I wish this guy would whine himself out of existence. There are real heroes and then there are self-absorbed spoiled brats like this.
